When we get to the Yachtsman, they seat us right away and we let our waiter know we are using wishes. This restaurant is 2 wishes apiece but we think it's worth it. Our waiter Dennis was great, he noticed Steve's birthday button and brought out a birthday card signed by all the characters. Steve apparently decided this was the moment to propose
so he says "ok, now will you marry me?" (he had been joking around about it for about 6 months, and he had never been serious) so I said "not funny, knock it off" he then asked me if I wanted him to get on one knee and I said "NO, because you will embarrass both of us and you still won't mean it!" so he says "will you marry me if I give you this?" he pulls an actual engagement ring from under his napkin. I just looked at it because I couldn't believe he bought one with out me knowing! (I work in a bank and handle all the household finances) I was quite shocked. The first dumb thing out of my mouth was "that's a real ring!" So he smiled said "well, you never answered my question" I said "Oh right, YES!"
The second dumb thing out of my mouth was "how did you buy this with out me knowing?" He of course wouldn't tell me but he then proceeds to say, "ok, now I have to call my sister in-law" and all I can say is "she knows!" He then runs down a list of people he has to call because they all knew he was going to do this. I was shocked! He really fooled me! I also could not believe that many people knew and no one spilled the beans!! I had to wear the ring on my pinkie because it wasn't sized properly for my ring finger but that was ok, I just had to be careful.
All of this went on right after we ordered our appetizers. So we proceed to order our dinner and Steve continues to call everyone back home. I think the only person who didn't know was my mother. So I call and let her know the good news. We then had a wonderful dinner. Dennis brought over a small desert with a candle for Steve's birthday, which we shared, and we decided to take a walk to try to walk off dinner. I had always wanted to see Beaches & Cream so we walked over there and see if any one ordered the Kitchen Sink sundae. There was a table of 6 who were just finishing one but there is one behind the counter like a display so you can see just how big it is. I wanted to continue walking so we walked all the way around to the Boardwalk side by the Jellyrolls and Dance Hall. It was a beautiful night, so we sat on one of the benches looking out over the water. One of the boats came by and I asked if he wanted to get on this one or the next one, he said the next one is fine.
As we waited and waited and waited. Apparently, that had been the last boat of the night and we didn't know it. Oh well, now we walked back to the Yacht Club to get our car and back to the hotel. It was a great night all around!
Tomorrow: EPCOT and the Spirit of Aloha Luau.
High Points: Getting engaged of course.
Low Points: Missing the last boat back to the Yacht Club.
