FLIGHT TO CDG - DAY 1:) Friday evening
:yay: :dance3: :yay: :dance3: :yay: :dance3: :yay: :dance3: :yay: :dance3:
Well our flight was with easyjet at 7.25 pm. Flight was on time but the children were bouncing off the walls they were soooooo excited. We arrived at Terminal 3 CDG airport at 9.50 pm through a terrible storm and terrific turbulence that would put any ride in Paris to shame. It was quite scary really and would not want a repeat of it. When we landed the rain was splashing on the window and there were large pools of water everywhere. It looked as though it had been raining heavy for hours, oh dear we thought.

When we got through the airport terminal we saw the man from BS Transports with our name on his board. Lots of people were trying to get taxis and were told that there was none at the moment, so it was great just to step outside the terminal and straight into a large comfortable taxi. The man took our luggage and we were off. The children could not wait to get to the hotel. During the journey the gentleman did not speak much to us as his English and my mother and I were not impressed when he continued to speak on his mobile for at least half the journey, with the weather being so bad on the roads as the rain was battering down you needed full concentration on the road and my mum was getting a little aggrevated that just when she had decided she was going to tell him that you should not drive when holding the phone he ended the call.

We got to the Explorers Hotel and checked in. This was very smooth as the taxi driver took our suitcases and the concierge at the hotel put them on a trolley for us and proceeded to show us to our room, it was fabulous, we did not even touch our own luggage until it was inside our own room. The staff at the Explorers were very efficient and friendly. It was a bit confusing actually as the reception you would think is on level 1 but the Explorers reception is on level 3. We were one level above on level 4. When we opened our window we found we were on one of the wings looking out over onto the pool area which looked spectacular as it was empty and all lit up beautifully. Our room was very spacious. One double bed, two single beds and another room with bunk beds in it. We made use of these very quickly as we got the children into bed very prompt as we said the sooner we go to sleep the sooner tomorrow will come and we will be in the park. So we were all in bed before 11.50 pm.

DAY 2 (Saturday) :tinker: :smickey:

Our first day!!!!! We woke the children up at 7.30 am and washed and changed for breakfast. Breakfast was on level 1 and the restaurant looked very busy. We packed our trays with a mixture of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereal and croissants and got a table. The next was to find the milk to go into the cereal bowls and this was the other side of the restaurant. Also we got our hot and cold drinks too. The food was lovely.

We then left the hotel at 8.20 am and left the hotel. Just in time as the shuttle bus was just turning the corner and wow, no queue. We jumped straight on along with another probably 8 more people.

When we got off the shuttle bus we saw the most people ever!!!!! Oh my god we thought surely these are not all going into the park, YES, they were!!
I was getting annual passes and telling this to the lady behind the counter was a nightmare, why she was there I do not know. She did not understand what I was saying. In the end I said, just give me four day hopper passes for two adults and three children and forget the annual passes I will leave that until another time and I wont get them. Then a miracle happened, she understood what I meant ??? We paid for our annual passes and were told to go to the passport office before leaving the park that day as our tickets were only valid for that day.

Then if I lifted my feet off the ground I am sure the crowd would have took me with them as there were hoards of people coming through. At the end of Main Street outside City Hall we saw our first glimpse of Disney. In the distance I saw the Castle but kept it from my little girl as she was more interested in looking at Baloo running around the road followed by millions of people. Then we saw Minnie Mouse dressed in her Welsh outfit topped with a lovely little welsh hat. The queue to have a photo with her was already five rows deep WOW. At the end of Main Street that was when I picked my 6 year old daughter up and said "Look Lucy, its Sleeping Beautys Castle". I thought she had fainted as she acted in that way. She got a bit emotional and that made me much of the same. It was a lovely feeling to see her little face. Walking down Main Street we saw crowds of people waiting for their photo with Mickey who was also dressed in a welsh outfit. The children also saw Pluto and Donald and Daisy at this time too and had some lovely pictures taken. The passport office was empty so we decided to get it over and done with. We then went to Discoveryworld. The children could not get on anything the queues were well over 95 minutes long for everything!!!!!!!! We decided to go through to Fantasyland. The children had some nice pictures taken by the beanstalk and in Sleeping Beautys castle much to my little girls pleasure. She was squealing with delight. We saw the dragon and the children had a go of pulling out the sword, my eldest daughter was convinced it was going to come out!. We done most of Fantasyland today and walked back through and the children had photos with Eeyore, Gadget (? dont know much about this character), Babou (Aladdins monkey). We were right on the curbside when the parade started just on the opposite side from Caseys Corner on Main Street. Cinderella first, followed by Snow White and the dwarfs, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine and then the characters followed, Balu, Donald, Tigger (my little boy went mental), Eeyore, Mad Hatter and Alice, Pinocchio and a few monkeys and orang-u-tans, finally Mickey and Minne on Steamboat Willlie. My eldest daughter cried during the parade this was a shock because it was all princesses for my little girl. So that finished me off, we were all crying and the music was lovely too. The days weather had started off quite overcast but it turned into a fine dry day, so much so that the sun was out and the children discarded their coats to my mum and just walked around with their bodywarmers on.

We were totally in the Disney spirit but hungry. We had had a hot dog earlier and proceeded to the Plaza Gardens for our character tea at 4.30 pm. We had a lovely table and had pizzas and sausage, rolls and a wide selection of pastries and donuts and loads of drinks. Characters here were Baloo, Friar Tuck (who took an instant like to my mum!!! which was very funny as he kept on coming back for a cuddle), Chip and Dale, Eeyore, The Genie from Aladdin, Goofy and Tigger. We had great fun here and lots of people had birthdays with cakes and everyone was clapping and singing to them and the characters were getting everyone in the mood. A little girl by us was given a cake and a little Mickey Mouse as a birthday gift and her face was a picture!!! 8 characters for a tea party I thought was very good and they were brilliant spreading themselves around all the tables we got to see all of them.

After we went back to Fantasyland and finished off doing Its a Small World and Snow White and Pinnocchio.

We ate more junk today and it was so busy even people we met and talked to said they have never seen it as busy. I noticed that the exempt days for passports were the 1st and 2nd of March so maybe as there was a lot of French people and I know that some French children were on holiday at this time, plus it was a weekend and it was St Davids Day were a lot of welsh people had come over for the festival which was ending that night. We watched the firework display which was amazing over the castle. pixiedust:

We left the park absolutely worn out at 10.20 pm. We looked at the queue for our hotel, oh my goodness, there was at last three shuttle bus loads of people in front of us. We waited until 10.45 pm still no shuttle bus had arrived, everyone started to get a little edgy. We decided to leave the queue and get a taxi outside the train station on the other side of the road. It was a bit bad actually as the other Disney hotel buses we had seen loads of those going backwards and forwards but still no number 54 which goes to Explorers and Dream Castle. When we got back to the hotel I asked it that was usual as I did not want it to happen on the next evening and if so, I would leave just before the park shut. I was told that it was very unusual and they do not normally have complaints on the shuttle service as we were not the only people who had complained.

We had a wonderful day, the queues were a bit ridiculous but we hoped that after the St Davids Day festival had ended the next day would be a bit quieter although we still realised that it was a Sunday and still the weekend so it could still be the same. We would just do as much as we could possibly do in a day. The children were so tired that I had changed them and put them in bed and before my mum and I had a wash, got changed to go to bed they were all snoring in our comfortable beds.

I also realised that you can go with all fabulous intentions of having a schedule of what to do and what time but it does not always work. Our first day we were meant to do Discoveryland and Fantasyland and the queues were so bad that Discoveryland would have to wait until another day. Also I may be a little more pushy tomorrow as when the characters are around no-one seems to care and pushes their way through.:crowded:

Goodnight all until Day 3 (Sunday)

Its certainly put me in the mood for my trip:cool1:

What a great trip report:thumbsup2 Hope the queues die down for the rest of your trip

Thanks for all your replies. Thanks to Reid for the pm on how to put photos on although this may take a little longer for me to do.:thumbsup2

sounds like you had a fabulous first day, i was 6 when i first went like your daughter and it's lovely to remember how emotionally overwhelming it is - even for adults!!

i also agree with the good intentions of scheduling - i've completely given up trying now, we usually manage to do everything we want to do several times just by doing things that are least busy - in the summer i find it pretty impossible to go on any attractions during the day, but at night you can do absolutely tonnes!!

just going to ready day 3 now!

So, no issue with BS Transport except for the fact he liked to talk and drive at the same time?

To Sratch42

No problems at all with BS Transport except talking on his phone whilst driving. Excellent service, except I just talk away to everyone and like everyone to talk to me, I dont think our driver could speak too much english but he was very smiley and took care of our luggage. They were on time too so you cant really ask much more.
