Hey all! We've been back for a little more than a week and I'm finally catching up on everything and wanted to post my trip report from July 8-15.

We booked a tower room (hoping for MK view) 10 days before we were due to check in. The cast member my dh dealt with was wonderful and noted our room request right into the computer as he was booking it.

Fast forward 10 days to check in. We arrived at the Cont. about 11am and there was no line. We all approached the front desk and I was still there hoping to get a MK view like you wouldn't believe! The cast member took our info and informed us they had us assigned to a king sized bed room midway in the tower MK view. I was thrilled BUT dh felt that dd-5 1/2 would do better in a queen sized bed instead of the daybed. So the cast member checks further and finds she has something MK side with 2 queens that was ready but it was at the far end of the tower. She then proceeded to tell us that it is not a good view of the castle and that there is a room which she could not tell us it's number that is waiting to be cleaned but would provide us with a great view of the castle and it's on a higher floor with 2 queen beds. It was a dilemma for me since this was our first trip with our 6 month old and she could really used a nap and to stretch out in her pack 'n play after our long drive in the car, but we decided to wait.

We went for a boat ride to the WL (beautiful resort and one we are highly considering staying at next time) and then over to FW (loved the laid back feeling this place just gave off - another one I'm considering...) and then we came back and had lunch at the F&FC. We called mousekeeping at about 1pm and our room was still not ready. Ugh! We putzed around and again called at 3pm and it still was NOT ready! Oh my!! Finally dh called a little after 4pm and it was finally ready and we could get our room. We were on the 11th floor - room 4748 and what a BREATHTAKING view of the castle, Space Mountain... everything. It was so worth the wait!! Our beds were on the outside wall so we could not watch Wishes from our beds, but we still had an awesome room. Dd loved watching them from our balcony and I would sit on the couch and bf my 6 month old.

We had breakfast at Chef Mickey's and had a wonderful experience as we have in previous years. Minnie and Mickey in particular loved up our 6 month old!! Got some great pics, but the lady bringing around the pics they took, took forever for her to return so we could pay her.

We ate a few times at F&FC and at times it didn't seem that clean and the condiments station was a bit messy or not stocked well.

We also at a few times at CSH and had wonderful experiences all of the times. Wonderful food and great service.

Transportation was good; the monorail and bus service and the walkway to MK is great. MK is where we spend most of our time so staying at the Cont. is awesome for that. We didn't wait for too long for any busses while we were there... now waiting for a bus at the parks to bring us back was a bit longer of a wait.

The pools were nice and dd enjoyed the slide as did dh and I. :-) After visiting some of the other resorts (WL, AKL, Poly, GF) the theming here lacks, but then again it is the "Contemporary" so that's how the pool felt. The quiet pool was good too.

Mousekeeping was very good and friendly! Our mousekeeper would say hello to us whenever she would see us and tell us to have fun and have a nice time/day.

Lost and Found was excellent as well. We had lost our baby's blanket and dh went and put in a report. They never called us about it and so we thought it was long gone. We traveled all the way back home to find a package waiting for us -- it was our child's blanket! Talk about what a nice surprise!

So overall our experience was a very good one. We do really enjoy the Cont. (especially it close proximity to the MK and monorail is really what keeps us coming back - just so super convienent) - it's my dh's favorite resort, but are considering staying elsewhere perhaps our next visit.

Any questions?!? If so... let me know!

Thanks for reading my trip report 2004! :-)

glad you had fun ! thanks for your report! we are going to be staying there for the first time in April. (My dh has always wanted to stay in the tower) hope we get a great view like you did!

Did you find the CR in need of refurbishment?? I've seen several complaints on the message board lately.

I'm staying at CR in September for the first time....I'm hoping I won't be disappointed!! I won't, will I??
