My husband and I recently moved to London from Arizona and bought some Annual Passes to DLRP-we had DL passes before and were regulars to Anaheim!

We went to Paris for Xmas week and decided to spend one day at DLRP-Xmas Day!
We woke up at 7 AM to catch the 8 AM RER to get to DLRP by opening at 9 AM. The weather was crazy-it was so foggy you could barely see the Castle! But kind of cool to see the Space, the Castle and Big Thunder sort of hidden-it looked spooky!

We immediately jumped on Thunder (I had never been because when we went in October for the first time it was closed). We rode Thunder and HM with no line and then walked over to Pirates-no line again and rode that! By that time it was close to 10 AM and the park was starting to fill up. We walked over to Fantasyland and got FP for Peter Pan and waited in a 15 min line for Snow White and then Pinocchio. And then back to PP....

Off to Space and BUzz next! We picked up some FP for those rides and then decided to have lunch-it was noon by then. We ate lunch back in Fantasyland at...I think Pinocchio's? And had cheeseburgers and fries-the crowd was crazy then and I felt really bad, the only table I found was a 5 top and I was trying to get people to sit with us and eat but most people had more then 4 and there weren't enough seats-so I offered it up to like 5 people and all said no due to their large size, but at the end of our meal, 2 people just came up to our table, pulled up two chairs and joined us (all the chairs had been taken while we were sitting there)...they didn't even acknowledge us! We don't mind if you join our table but have the courtesy to say "Do you mind if we sit here?" in any language! I'll understand and say sure! (anyway that's my rant)

After lunch we jumped onto Buzz and Space (no music on Space-the ride is not as good without the music!!). We grabbed more FP for SPace and Buzz and decided to take a shopping detour-we were so cold! It was 38 degrees Fahrenheit! My husband had no hat and my gloves were little knit worthless things. So we bought him a fleece Mickey hat and I got some nice thick manly gloves! (But they were warm so I didnt' care!)

We shopped a bit and then decided we better get to Frontierland for the 3:45 show of Mickey's Winter wonderland! The show was great-we love Goofy and he was so cute in his hat and scarf! It was a cute show-although somehow Europeans think Americans are all western and it doesnt help that Disney's Xmas show has a western theme-how Dolly Parton singing Zippity do dah is Xmas-y I will never know-or the Country Bears?! It was very cute-but more western then Winter Wonderlandish in certain parts!

We raced over to use our Space FP after that even though the time had expired...in DL and WDW they let you use your FP after the time alotted and in fact it is a Disney policy in those parks to let you, so wew eren't sure about DLRP but we tried it in October and ot worked and we did it on Buzz earlier in the day, so we were quite surprised when the Space Mountain castmembers wouldn't let us use our FP!! But we had leftover FP that are good "anytime" from when you get your AP so we used that...but anyway, if the policy is not to let you in it should be universal throughout the park, and vice versa....so we are still not sure if it was just the castmember or just Space Mountain!

After we rode Space we headed over to Walt's for our 5:30 dinner reservations...we figured nothing is more romantic than dinner at Walt's on Xmas! We had a window seat onto Main Street!!!! We were able to watch the Xmas Parade from our seats! It was very magical!
We had creamy clam chowder-delicious! I had the risotto and my husband had steak-both outstanding. And for dessert he had cobbler and i had the white chocolate Cinderella slipper filled with chocolate mousse-the best!!

After dinner we headed back into the cold to wait on Main Street for Fantillusion-the park was filled at this point and you could barely see the Castle at all due to the fog (I will post pics). Fantillusion was great-not as good as Spectromagic but still amazing and magical! Some parent sent there 5 year old alone to sit next to me and another guy and while he kicked and punched the other guy, the parents barely paid attention and weren't even very close to us-every once in awhile the grandfather would point a finger at him to stop...the kid only spoke german and the poor guy next to me getting beat up was an Englishman and kept telling the kid "Nicht" Nein! I felt sorry for the guy! But the kid stopped once the parade started...

After the parade the park was only open for another hour so we ran to Buzz with our FP and then hopped on Thunder with another FP we got earlier and then ran over to Pirates and rode it twice in a row to end the night! There were no lines at any of the rides at the end of the night-I guess after the parades everyone left-so it was great to just get on the rides.
We had a very magical Christmas at DLRP and loved every freezing minute of it!
We took the RER back to Paris at 11 at night (shady people on that train at that time of night!!!) and fell asleep and dreamed of Mickey, Goofy and all our other friends....

I will post a pic of the foggy castle when i upload the pics soon....
Cheers!

Sounds like a fabulous way to spend Christmas Day :goodvibes

We did exactly the same on our visit a few weeks ago :) It was the highlight of the trip :cloud9:

An interesting point!! I suppose it should have more Alpine music rather than things like "Rocky Top Tennessee"!!! Then again, it's a show in the Chaparral Theatre in Frontierland, so I suppose the western theme is appropriate too - and possibly a bit more lively :scratchin

Wow that sounds fantastic! What a romantic Christmas evening! It seems to me you liked our European Disneyland, too. :goodvibes ;)
