Trip Report and Thank You

I mentioned in my original report that we planned to go to St. John's on our own but never made it (because we slept in). Some asked how we planned to do that on our own. Here is a link to a ferry schedule. We were thinking of taking a taxi to Red Hook (to see some of St. Thomas during the drive) and then taking the ferry from there. Then, taking the longer ferry ride back to Charlotte Amalie. Here's the link:

Thanks for taking the time to write this report and am so happy your family enjoyed themselves. I especially liked the part about the chicken fingers. Still LOL. When we cruised in May we had the REAS package which comes with a complete breakfast in bed. Since we had DS6, we ordered a lot of side orders. When the food came we were wondering what all of the plates were for. Apparently each side order comes on its own plate. Needless to say there were plenty of plates outside our stateroom door that morning. - Mike

We just walked off the ship and started negotiating. Had no reservations. Keep in mind, this was in June. During high season (January, February, etc.) it might be wiser to have reservations.

What a comprehensive report! Really enjoyed reading it! Sorry you missed St. John though.
SO GLAD you enjoyed our DD as your server in Palo: She was promoted after we were on board in March, so havent seen her "in action" in Palo yet! What a shame she had to have her name tag altered though. Her name is GEMMA, but as it isnt a well-known name in USA, people were unsure how to pronounce it, therefore it became necessary to alter the G to a J. I told her off and said she was christened GEMMA! (Typical Mother!)

Anyway, SO GLAD you had fun. Thanks again for a great report. Nat

How many years has "G"emma worked for Disney now? 4 or 5 and NOW they figure folks can't pronounce it. I'd be livid.
They going to change it to Diznee Cruz Lines now? Sheesh...

Thanks for your report!! I know what you mean about the next trip being a ways off. My dh and I are both Catholic school teachers (both in music). We will be taking off tomorrow for our June 12 Magic trip!!!

JP STL-Just a quick Thank you. I just read your trip report and thought you all had a wonderful time. Sounds great. Of course I loved the story of your son. We have 2 boys 15, and 13, and I could just see my 13 yr old doing the same thing. I've heard so many negative things about St. Maarten. Your report was refreshing. I still don't think DH would want to rent a jeep, but I may still look around for something for us to do there. We've been told it's a great day to spend on the ship. I didn't think I wanted to go all that way and still stay on board.

Thanks Again. I hope you and your family will be able to travel on a cruise (or what ever you want to do) real soon. That's what family vacations are all about. Enjoying them with your children!!
