Hello, everyone,
I've been pretty busy lately and haven't had the chance to post my trip reports like I usually do. This one, however, is very short because we basically got fed up with what was going on! I'll explain.
It was just Mom and I who went to visit the parks, DCA first and then DL. We dropped off my sister at her usual friend's house in Studio City, checked out Hollywood briefly, and then, by around 6 p.m., went over to DCA to do some attractions.
"Mikey and Sulley to the Rescue" was a 10 minute wait, "Muppet*vision 3D" had no wait so we did it even though we've seen it before, and then we walked right on to Soarin' since there was no line outside. Okay, that was just DCA because by then, it was going on 9 and the park was closing.
We went into DL to head over to NOS to have a chowder bowl at the French Market. I knew it was the one place still open in NOS that served those. We get over there at 8:30 and discover it's closed! The main entryway was roped off! I thought, okay, that's cool, we'll just go over to the Riverbelle Terrace. They serve chowder bowls, too.
We get over to the Riverbelle Terrace and it TOO is closed! A sign was posted in their menu stand that read "We're Receiving Provisions." Eh? Needless to say, we were getting upset as well as more hungry! HM had only a 5 minute wait and I told Mom we should jump on and then get on the DLR to head over to Tomorrowland to see if Pizza Port was still open.
After HM, we got on the DLR and once we hit the TL station, we first asked a CM if Pizza Port would still be open. We didn't want to get off the train if it wasn't. He said he wasn't sure, meaning we had to get off and find out for ourselves. And guess what? CLOSED!!! Pizza Port also shut its doors right before 10 p.m.! I mumbled to Mom this had to be some sort of conspiracy! The last place we decided to check was the Blue Ribbon Bakery on Main Street. I think that Coca Cola stand on the corner was closed too, but I don't remember. The Blue Ribbon Bakery was jam-packed and we just gave up!
I thought we'd hit the McDonald's on Harbor Blvd., but I somehow ended up on the wrong street, getting us totally lost. I found a South 5 freeway entrance and took it, heading for home. I ate a bowl of cereal at home and went to bed, very disappointed with our DL experience that night.
