Took my first solo trip and got back yesterday. The family goes each Christmas and although it was kinda weird at first I soon adapted. Stayed one night at Universal since I had never been and was kinda dissapointed. Totally different state fair vibe to it. Wasn't really that impressed. Shoulda just stayed onee more day at Disney! Stayed at POR for 2nd time. Really peacfule there. Crowds were medium - every night at 10:00 you could pretty much do whatever with no wait except for Peter pan's Flight and the 7 dwarfs mine train ... They did close BTMRR down after thi first night there until tomorrow. Went over to Ft. Wilderness and chilled out - checked out River Country through the holes in the privacy fence and went and sat on the beach and relaxed. By far my favorite place in Disney.... Went over to the POLY and tried to get in Trader Sam's - 3 hour wait and I decided to do the deck instead. Pretty nice. had a few run ins with CAST members - just very "as a matter of fact" and arrogant- but of course there were some good ones. Still amazes me that people leave all of their food and crap on the tables at alot of the quick service restaurants for the next person to clean up. Went to DD for about 4 hours - ate at new Boathouse restaurant - very nice... just not alot for me at DD. Did the water parks for the first time as well and really liked the - especially Typhoon Lagoon.... about to make plans for the family trip - looking like the POLY in December ... thanks WDW for a great experience!

Thanks for sharing. How long was the wait for The Boathouse? I saw they are not taking reservations (until May 15th) and to book on open table.com but I can't get it to work. TIA

I walked right in and sat at the bar and ate lunch. No one was in main dining area - only the deck and the bar was open on the deck as well. Nice place
