Hi Everyone,
I am just back and thought I'd give some highs and lows. Pics to follow!
Highs:
Dreams - Saw this twice and it was amazing both times...I would love to see the new Christmas version!
Terror Tower - I'm not a huge fan of rides, but I loved this, too much fun.
Inventions Lunch - If you are in DLP on a Sunday, do this. It was a really good lunch in a wonderful setting (I had a window looking onto the castle) and the characters took the time to speak to and get photo's with everyone. They were attentive and didn't rush. More details below.
Hotel New York: Room was perfect, breakfast was good and no queue's! Good Character selection to get photo's with.
Photo pass: This is so much better than before when you had to pay for individual pics, much better value. Seemed well used by other quests, so think the word is finally out about these
Weather - The sun was out a lot - way more than we expected.
Lows (very minor):
Toilets: These were not pleasant, should be cleaned more regularly
Rude guests: My husband and I had two occasions where we actually got into mini spats through rude families trying to push in and jump queues. Once while waiting at the Princess Pavilion when a family of 7! people were trying to queue jump! And once during dreams were we had waited for 45 minutes to get a good space and a family tried to push in and stand in front of us. Both times speaking up paid off and we we kept our space, so don;t take this - they know they are in the wrong to point it out.
Neither of these things spoiled the trip for us - we had the time of our lives
Restaurants
During our visit we went to:
Casey's Corner - A favorite of mine. I thought the hot dogs were as good as ever but hubby was underwhelmed. Probably one of the best value places to eat...although still not very cheap.
Auberge du Cindrillion - This was my birthday treat and it didn't disappoint. The princesses were out and the staff attentive. We has Suzi and Perla, Cinderella, sleeping beauty and my all time favorite Ariel. I also had a birthday cake which the staff, Ariel and Cinders brought out and sang happy birthday to me! It was perfect. The only thing I would say is the food is mediocre, so don't go here expecting a gourmet experience, your really paying for the character interaction (although I would say Inventions had more attentive characters). Overall I loved it but I would sooner go back to the inventions brunch than pay for this again. Good to do once.
Planet Hollywood: This as always was a good dinner, what you'd expect really. Probably one of the few places you can get a semi healthy meal if you want it. I had salmon, rice and veg. It was yummy.
Buffalo Bills: I got cheap tickets from the french website to see this as I had done it before. I think it was good but I'm glad I didn't pay full price. The food was good and the drinks plenty. Hubby was drinking the free beer and his glass was never let to go empty. I ordered wine - it was 20 EURO so not too expensive and it was a really nice french wine. There was less atmosphere than before but still fun.
Fuente Del oro - Service was slow but the food was yummy, I had fajitas, rice and churros. It was only 13 Euro so good value and I couldn't finish as it seemed like a lot of food. A good no fuss option.
Earl of Sandwich - Hubby ate here the day I had fajita's cause he needed to go back to the hotel for a short decompression break (after 4 days in disney he was doing well! lol). He said there was a good selection of sandwichs and the sandwich he had was pretty good. Probably best value lunch you could have.
King Ludwigs - We had planned to eat here, we were hoping to go to annettes but the queues were insane. We hadn't booked ludwigs, we were able to just walk in and ask for a table. Food was good, there was a lot of it! I would probably have the shared starter and a desert next time as the starter filled me up and the deserts looked really yum. The food was of a high standard though so I would eat here again. Probably the best place to drink beer as it was cheaper than anywhere else.
Inventions - This was the stand out best restaurant that visited, the food was awesome, the selection outstanding. The characters were really amazing and attentive. The staff make a really fuss over you and regularly clear your plates and changing cutlery...always good at a buffet! The deserts were by far and away the best puddings in DLP - just do this!
Blue lagoon - I should probably say we tried to get reservations at the blue lagoon. I had tried to book before leaving and was told it would be shut. When we realised it was, we tried to get reservations but it was completely booked out, so if you want this book ahead!
On queues: We thought these we fine, the Wed - Thurs, the park was pretty quite and we had no longer than a 5-10 minute wait for any ride. The weekend was busy and most were about a 20-50 minute wait.
Princess Pavillion - The wait said 50 minutes, it was more like an hour or an hour 10 minutes. I got to meet Rapunzel, so I didn't mind. Just make sure you tell them the princesses you would like to meet. There were two in when we were there. Sleeping Beauty was the other who I had already met, so I'm glad they asked and placed me with Rapunzel - if you had kids you could maybe have blagged seeing both.
It worth noting we were only an adult couple and no kids but the characters still took the time with us!
I had an amazing time and I am happy to answer any questions...but don't ask if you should pay for inventions and if it's worth it cause the answer is a resounding YES!

just like to ask if you know but we are going from 26 till 30th oct.
As its been decorated up for Halloween already are the kids starting to dress up for halloween. Just asking so I know what to pack if they want to dress up on the last day. don't want DD looking out of place if people only dress up on the 31st.
