Trip Planning--Where do I begin????????

I read from some reviews that the value resorts are quite noisy and you can hear everything in neighboring rooms. I am quite fussy with noise levels.
Do you think this is true about the value resorts?

Also, is anyone else going in January and would you mind sharing what type of room rate you received.

Thanks

Debbie

Hi Debbie, was 6 nights at POR last june and 1 night at ASMovies, and there's a big difference between a Value and a Moderate. Much more noisy at value. And beleive me, we stayed at the hotel all day. POR was very quiet, maybe its because of the grounds, the flower and trees, makes it less noisy! :confused3

We will never go at a value again. To much people, families that are loud and that dont respect the peace an quiet of others...

So if you can pay a moderate go for it! :sunny:

OH! I have her too! I got an email from her today about the rumoured discount coming for this fall.... I'm going in December, so I'm pretty sure it will apply to me. She has no specifics, but she wanted me to know that she'll convert my ressie if it applies to me.

Micelf33 - Try googling "Dream Come True Vacations" or type that in as one word, no spaces with .com at the end, same for the email address, kathryn@ "Dream Come True Vacations" dot com... There's a 1-800 number too, it's not on their website and I think it's only for clients who are booking, so I probably shouldn't post it here...
:wave2: Hi, I got an email from her too, only it's not a discount. It's a voucher $$$ not specified for Planet Holleywood. We're going in Jan so hopefully that is not the only deal Disney is giving out after Xmas holidays!

Does anyone know how much more a moderate costs compared to a value? We have a value booked because I didn't realize that all resorts had some connecting rooms.

Also which resorts do you find the kids prefer? We were thinking of maybe even splitting our stay because I think my kids would love ASMo for the themeing but with this being our last family vacation before child number six is born I think I would prefer a moderate.

Hi, go to Disney's website and you can price out all kinds of pkgs with different resorts, it's really easy & fun. Don't forget to convert to cdn $$$. :sunny:

I was given a price of 154.98 as night this includes all taxes for the Caribbean resort from dreams unlimited.
It is about 50.00 more a night than staying at the value resort.
I am thinking that maybe i would rather stay off the resort at a nice quiet hotel for less money than stay on the resort and suffer exhaustion all week from lack of sleep.
Decisions Decisions........

We were at ASSp a month ago. We had preference rooms overlooking the pool and we had no problem with noise. If you are not planning to spend much time at the resort I would definately stay at a value.

We booked through CAA. Since we live close to the office I would mostly talk with our TA directly. She was wonderful. She booked all our ADR's (we got in on the free dining) in about 10 minutes--I have heard aweful things about people being on the phone trying to make ressies for 1+hours.

If you book your trip with CAA and something comes up, call your TA and they will get it for you. I would definately go through CAA again (we were driving so I didn't have to get airline tickets)
