Trip planning sites/itineraries?

Are there any trip planning sites that break down what you should do first, second, third etc? Am I just making this up or do they exist??

Yes. Not allowed to post link so just google universal touring plans and look at 2nd result down. I've used their plans for a trip 2 summers ago and they worked well.
