Trip options... what would you do?

We took our first trip mid-May 2017 and have been talking about going back ever since. We are looking at doing a last minute week-long trip sometime during the 3 weeks after Memorial Day. There is actually quite a bit of hotel availability the week after Memorial Day.

My husband is concerned about the heat and FP+ availability of booking last minute and he wants to wait until fall or winter.

Will the heat be much different than our may trip last year? There was only one day on our last trip that year that we actually felt like it was too hot(Epcot). And besides FOP I feel like we will still be able to get decent fast passes.

Will crowds decrease slightly after Memorial Day?

Our group is myself, DH, DS-3 and our nephew-13 and we do rope drop afternoon break style.

What would you do? Thanks everyone!

June is not bad at all for crowds, it's been pretty light the last few summers. June is a bit hotter than May, but fairly comparable. You'll get pop up t-storms. You may go 5 days without getting a single one, you may get them 5 days in a row.

FP+ availability is great, with very limited exception (FoP mostly).

Id definitely book. We've always had good luck the first week of June. Book now and make your fastpasses now before the 30 day window opens. if you don't get one you want check often and see if one opens. Also check for same day FP changes. We've also had good luck with that.

As for the heat we've been 3 times once it was VERY warm. The other times it was warm but very bearable.. I like that week because the northern schools are still in session. I say do it. we love last minute trips!

We'e going the 2nd full week of June. Booked fastpasses last week and we got everything we wanted including FOP twice. Crowds aren't bad and weather is about the same as May. Book it!!

I'd book! Early June is a great time to go. Many schools are still in session. We went June 5-12 in 2016 and it was one of our nicer trips as far as crowd level, wait times, etc.

Crowd level has really started to even out so summer is becoming more bearable in that sense. It does start getting hotter in June but you can easily combat it with planned midday breaks (which can also help missing some of the afternoon showers) and visiting the indoor attractions and shows.

We are going for the 1st and 2nd weeks in June and have found the heat bearable before. The only warning I can add is rain. I have already purchased my lightsaber umbrella because I know we will get a 30 min- 1hour rain each day.

Thanks everyone! Looks like a June trip would work out pretty good! Now to convince DH!

I booked in early April for a mid May trip and had no problem getting good FPs and ADRs. I couldn’t get Toy Story or Crystal Palace, but that’s not going to stop me from having a great time!
