I am having lithotripsy, a curious non-surgical procedure that involves blasting the darn thing with shock waves. As long as it goes well and the stone is agreeable enough to disintegrate, the docs see no reason I can't travel.

This is good news. I just read your post and was going to mention the lithotripsy procedure. When I was studying to be a nurse I got to stand in on some of these cases in the OR. It was very interesting and appeared to be painless to the patient. I hope you procedure goes well and you'll be feeling well soon. I know how bad the stone pain can me---happened to me in '90. I passed it within 48 hours thankfully. Hope you'll be back on your feet soon

I am alive! Survived the procedure OK and feeling OK. Hope to travel tomorrow afternoon or Friday. May need Depends, but hey, so do a lot of folks in Florida...

Thanks for all the kind words. I am up this morning and feeling just fine so we are going to "hit the road." I f I get tired we'll stop early, but who cares? I'm going to Disney World!

I have a funny litle cone I have to take, with a strainer on the cap. I have to tinkle through it. What do you all think the Magic Kingdom security guards will think when they root through my bags?

I just had a kidney stone last week and went through test and I don't see any reason to cancel trip just drink plenty of water and my doctor says lemonade and enjoy the trip let us know

I am so excited I can't stand it. You really appreciate a trip even more when it's almost cancelled! I feel positively manic -- SO excited I am driving hubby crazy, rushing him to hurry so we can LEAVE already! I was really scared of anesthesia (first time) and then afraid I'd be too miserable to travel. I FEEL FINE! I am sending the Urology group a WDW postcard...

Thanks again for all the support here. It's nice to have pals who comprehend the trauma of a potentially-ruined trip!

When I was waiting for the IV to take effect I was thinking of Old Key West! I am sure that helped...
