I hated doing it that fast, but I'm so glad that I did! It was just amazing and fantastic trip. David Cook was an absolute doll.


Okay, my tests.

Today was the huge pulmonary tests. I couldn't do any of them. They felt I wasn't healthy enough for them and that they would put my health (what I have of it ............. sigh) in danger. So tomorrow I call my PCP again and find out what comes next. In the meantime, I do have the big mg. of meds and they do seem to be helping. I'm really worried about what comes next, but I must get better. Thanks for being such wonderful friends and I'll be back soon!!

Oh Heidi, I'm so glad the oncologist found nothing. Breathing problems are really sucky. My youngest DD and I have asthma very badly and it can be scary not getting the oxygen you need. I hope they can find a med that works for you.

The TR was great I loved all of the pics. It looks like you both had a wonderful time.

I'm so jealous you guys got to meet David Cook! I was at the parade taping and got 0 GLIMPSES of Celebrities! The only time I've ever seen a celeb was Don King at a Las Vegas airport.

It was so nice to meet you and DD. Funny how we were staying on opposite ends of the SAME HOTEL! and only met in Mexico, haha. I'm glad you think my wigs are fabulous, my collection has grown to 4!

Simply put, I LOVED YOUR SPEEDY UPDATES! You more than outdid yourself. Your pictures of Yak and Yeti remind me just how excited I am to go back and eat another skirt steak there! MOUTH WATERING GOOD!

And yes (good catch Barb), I was not a fan of the new MGM "parade" either. I don't even think they should call it a parade. I am sure it has it's fans, I however, am NOT one of them.

I am so inspired by your positive attitude even in the face of all that you have gone through. I'm going to WDW Dec 2009--so, I admit you fed my addiction for all things Disney. I hope your tests from the pulmonologist come back okay--or at least they get your meds right. And I absolutely am so jealous of your DAVID COOK encounter!!! I would have fallen out on the floor then and there!!!

EVERYONE Heidi missed a bit, when she was in the MK we bumped into each other, I was having a tour of the MK with the other Mom's panellists but I sneaked over to her to give her a huge hug. I told her how the night before I'd slept in the castle and she kept that secret for weeks and weeks until I wrote about it on my TR. Thanks for keeping quiet Heidi and Figment

Those Harry Potter questions were so much fun and a bit tough. I had no idea it was for that certificate -- I was just playing and when I found out, I got a bit nervous! lol

I wish I had had the energy to do it right and tell all the stories and really go slow, but there was no way. But I am sooo happy I could share it and all the pictures with everyone. We really did have a great, great time. And David Cook -- what a cutie and what an even nicer guy. DD and I have great hopes for his career when he breaks away from his AI contracts and can make a real rock album.

Breathing problems are soooo scary. I had an attack in the car today and just trying to settle down afterward is work. I hope you and your DD have good breathing!!

I once met Johnny Depp in a bar here in Ft. Lauderdale. He plays with a band he formed in high school called The Kids and I worked for some (moron) who owned a studio where Johnny practiced. He invited all of us to the performance. They were "okay" but OMG, Johnny was GORGEOUS and even in just crummy jeans and an Addidas sweat, he was obviously a star and super nice. Just hanging out with all of us.

It was great meeting you!!! And yes, you know I love those wigs!

That skirt steak at Y&Y was fabulous! That is a definite on my list to have again. I didn't expect it to be that great for some reason but it was just super.

Hi Everyone! It has been a while and I've missed you all!!

Yesterday and all night I spent in the ER, having every test known to man! I was poked and prodded and smashed and smoooshed and whatever other painful thing you can think of. I got a wonderful doctor who was bound and determined to cover all bases. He wanted to do a lot of cardiac testing to make sure the chest pain and shortness of breath were not coming from that and no one noticed. He did blood and metabolic panels, x-rays, heart scans, and other things and I'm soooo happy to report that my heart is just fine other than I have tachycardia which is a racing heart while resting and that is nothing they're going to worry about due to all the other meds!!! Then came the lung testing and he went a huge step further from the other tests and did some CT and other scans (with contrast injections -- ewwww) to look for tumors, blood clots and other nasties in my lungs. None were hiding in there!!!! He did three nebulizer treatments. albuterol, flow meter tests. So after all that -- I have asthma. I don't know what word they use, acute asthma (which I like cuz the word cute is in there!!!) or severe asthma or what along with bronchitis (again). Everything is in the bronchial tubes. He put me on yet more steroids, meds, and even cough syrup to help me at night. I have a lot to learn about how to manage this disease because when it is at this point, I guess it can be very bad. Right now it is considered "out of control". But the good thing is from my research and talking with the doctor, you can get it under control and live your life. That will be amazing to me -- I've been in bed, fatigued and having these attacks far too often for far too long.

DD and I are talking about a celebration trip to Disney when I am totally better. We have no idea when it will happen -- possibly not for over a year. But we're going to call it "Mom's Season In Hell Is Over". Have any of you read Rimbaud's poem? It fits! But it's fun to talk about it and dream about it even a year before it is going to happen.

Asthma can be controlled. One of the most important things (other than your meds) is remaining calm and learning calming techniques. Also learn what your triggers are (stress, alergies, a cold) and avoid them! I have good days where I can walk 4 to 5 miles without losing my breath and I have bad days were I lose my breath after 3 steps. Hang in there we're all pulling for you.

I am so happy!! It has been hard learning all I have to about this and how to deal with it. But I'm doing it. I look forward to my strength coming back because hanging out in bed, just isn't my thing. It makes me feel guilty even when I know I need it!! But Stephen King has a new book out and that has definitely helped! You know I love my horror!

I hope the trip will be next year, it might be further than that, because I'm definitely not going until I'm strong. I left out a lot in this last TR that was all about my exhaustion and coughing and dry heaves in every single resort!!

I've been through too many doctor's and kept wondering when I'd hit gold. Funny thing -- he looks almost like a homeless man -- just wild hair and old sneaks, but what a brilliant and caring guy. The meds are working -- the steroids are making me nuts and I've cried every day from them (they make you very emotional and very hungry and when you can't find something in the fridge to eat, you cry about it!!! )

I just want to get back to being Heidi, too!!! Love you, Jo!

Thanks for the advice! I know you and DD have the severe form. It is so important to be calm and so hard to do that! I've been using QiGong, which helps soooooooo much!

It was a pain to have all those tests, but so great at the same time. Someone finally decided to look past the coughing and really get into it. We were just so worried about the blood clot. It took nearly two hours for the results of that to come back to the ER and it was torture (especially for my Mom because I made her watch Real Housewives of NYC!!! ) But it was all worth it!





Hey, everyone! I found some video that we shot on our trip!! Some of the amazing dance party with the Evil Stepmother and Stepsisters. I have to figure out how to move it because it loaded into a weird place on my computer, but as soon as I do, you'll get to see it!

Also, does anything think I should start a PTR? I have no idea when we are gong and like I said, it won't be for a minimum of a year, but we could all keep in touch that way. Let me know what you think!!

I was thinking I would put it on the Community Board since I don't even know when we're going and I want all of us to chat about whatever we want! I figure we can all contribute pictures and stories about our lives and days and whatever we want! I can take Mickey on another road trip!!!
