Hey everyone. My family and I went to DLR this past Saturday and Sunday (they also went on Friday for a couple hours). The weather was cold and rainy on Saturday. It wasn't crowded on Saturday, but on Sunday the people started coming in. I forgot to bring my camera but once my mom sends me some of the pics, I think I'll post them.
Other things:
-In the two days that we were there, we didn't rush anything. We didn't show up for rope drop
scared1: ). I didn't have a plan or anything, we kinda played it by ear, which is weird for me. Still, we rode 22 rides, used 6 sets of FP, saw Aladdin, WoC, and RDCT, all in a combined 16 hours in the parks (approx.)
-Did the WoC dining package for the first time. Ate at Ariel's Grotto for DDad's birthday which is tomorrow. We split the veggies and cheeses platter, which was yummy! DMom and I got the prime rib, which was excellently seasoned. DBrother got the mafalde pasta which he liked also. DD got the chicken, which he said was his favorite out of anyone's dishes. So we were all very satisfied. The dessert platter was fantastic also!
Overall, we had a very enjoyable meal.
-Then we saw WoC from the preferred dining section. I had seen WoC 4 other times from 4 very different spots in the blue section. We were a little off to the side of the section but still at the front. We had awesome views! It was really a great place to watch the show. Very immersive yet at the same time you get a sense of the scope of the whole thing. We all really enjoyed it!
-Rode Toy Story a few times. DB and I work great as a team. We unlocked special hidden targets on at least 3 of the individual games (plates, rings, and darts). On our second day, we were one of the first 100 or so people to ride the ride. DB got 215k and I got 214k. He got "best of today" (which I got 2 weeks ago) which probably meant I was second best. It was a very good game for me.
-Had lunch at White Water Snacks one afternoon. Had never been there. I got the chicken sandwich with guac and a chile on it. It was very tasty. I'm glad we ducked into the hotel for a little bit and mixed it up a little. Plus, this was about the time when it was raining so we had some shelter.
-Saw Aladdin for the first time in about a year and a half. Hilarious genie jokes! Although they didn't do the flying carpet above the audience this time. Oh well.
-The Little Mermaid building looks great! There are so many details going up. The arch is getting some wave artwork added to it. I really can't wait until it opens in a few months!
-When we rode Matterhorn yesterday morning, they timed it so that the two tracks "raced", which I had not experienced in multiple years. That was fun.
-Got my highest score ever on BLAB. DB did well too. This is the only pic I have, cause I emailed it to myself.
Overall, it was a relaxing, fun weekend. And I got to see my family. Don't think I'll get to see them until May-ish or so, so that was fun.
