ok so i posted this over in the WDW side of the house before I relized it was only WDW so if anyone knows how to delete a post could you let me know So I can delete the other one over there?

anyways as the title says the trip is set 3 days in DL! just me and my wife (CAdreamer as she known on here) staying at the Disneyland Hotel we are scheduled to arrive at the park on the morning of the 18th and have lunch reservations at the blue bayou (mmm can't wait to get a monte cristo and pomme frites!!)

This trip will actually start in Iraq a few days prior to that as that is where I am currently deployed for the third time and have been granted 2 weeks R&R leave I will leave here fly to kuwait and then off to the US and back home to the Seattle area I will be documenting the whole trip on here from the time I leave here and first set foot on US soil again all the way to the park and all our experiances there.

as this is the year of celebrations and the fact that disney is offering free military passes (my wife is an AP holder) we could not think of a better way to celebrate my coming home! and since I will have to return to Iraq before our wedding anniversary and my 31st B-day we will also be celebrating those as well! I am looking forward to this trip and will be updating everyone as we go along!

First of all Thank you for your service. What branch are you? My DH is AF and we are stationed at FEWarren in Cheyenne. How exciting that you get some R&R and at DL to boot!!!! We are taking advantage of the military deal as well. With a family of 6, this really helps out, ya know? You said the 18th, what month exactly? Looking forward to reading your TR.

to delete a post, you just go to your post and at the bottom there is an "edit" button, click on that and there should be a delete button there. HTH.

Do you have any pictures of you and your wife together that are handy to post? It seems as though the two of you must make an adorable couple (and she may have to keep an eagle eye on those Princesses fawning all over you!;))

i do actually have a couple
this is at the Blue Bayou

Those are really great!^^ It's tough to get a good picture in Blue Bayou because it's so dark in there, but you guys managed it! Is that a Dole Whip she is holding in the Fantasyland picture, or one of those Tinkerbell Twist things? I can't quite tell. I haven't gotten into the whole Dole Whip craze and I'm not sure why - I love pineapple in general, but the Whip thing just has not called out to me yet!

ok so now that I am less than a week away from being stateside bound I have had Disney on the brain and seeing the mouse everywhere he are just two examples of mouse sightings in Iraq

this is the towel of an Iraqi Army soldier

Your babies are beautiful!!!! Do you get to talk to them or see them via computer cam? I have yet to experience deployment with my DH but I know it's coming soon. I'm very happy for you being able to see them and your lovely wife in the most magical place!!

thank you and yes I get to call them all the time and see them via web cam when ever they are online.

to update everyone I am now in Washington State and loving being back it was a long plane ride 3 hours to kuwait, 4 hours to germany ,10.5 hours to dallas and then 3 hours to Seattle but it is definatly worth it. it was good to see me family again and since I got in while the boys were in school I was able to go in and suprise them it was so fun!
We are now two days and a wake up away from being in disneyland!!

My dad took that long, roundabout way back to Seattle one time, too! He's Navy, so we were VERY lucky he randomly got to take a surprise trip home mid-deployment, but what a trip! Have fun! You guys must be so excited! :donald:

Thank you so much for your service for our country. We are all very proud and lucky to have such wonderful people protecting our freedoms.

Your family is beautiful and I hope you have a great time in the happiest place on earth! I can't wait for more updates! :woohoo:

Ya, you're state side!!! I bet your family is soo happy. Geez!!! Did you fly commercial? What the heck do you do for 10 hours on a plane?

we flew commercial all the way from kuwait and for 10 hours I slept for 6 of them! lol literally I fell asleep as we took off from germany and woke up over michigan

ok folks, day one is complete!! we have been having a blast! The day started with an early wake up since our flight out of Seattle was at 6:30 in the morning but hey we are a military family and used to the early mornings lol.
here we are at the the airport me with my dohnuts god i've missed those!

as we flew from Seattle to Orange County DW slept while I played a crossward puzzle and looked out the window at the scenery one of my favorite views was of MT. Rainer as we went past
012.jpg

it was approx. 2 1/5 hours till we hit John Wayne airport but as we approached i was still looking out me window and enjoying the views of long beach and sunny california when just outside my windo I see the most wonderful view yet!!

the PARK!!!

and head off to the hotel. the Super Shuttle driver we had was great! we had a full van and he played trivia questions giving us all chances to get a discounted ( it was $10 per person) or even a free ride for any right awnser! well the questions were all us history and not easy ones by anymeans I figured out that he had just gotten his citizenship and aced the test! great guy and i learned alot today!

we finally got to the hotel and man it is a beautiful hotel at that!

Then it was off to the park! we had to go to the main ticket booths to rediem my military 3 day park hopper ticket voucher for an actual ticket, the line wasn't as bad as i thought it would be and we enjoyed the walk through DTD when we got in the park it was so good to be finally there that we stopped took it all in and held eachother close then headed down through mainstreet and off indy to get fastpasses and while DW was gettin those I got in line for Dole whips! DW decided on a Dole whip while I got the whip float. then we headed off to POC and stood in a fairly short line while we finished our desserts. the ride was fun and one of our favorites. we were glad we got on it when we did because it shut down for a while later on leaving people stuck on the boats for about 20 mins!

after pirates we hit up the churro stand and went through haunted mansion
and then hit up critter country for my personal favorite a TIGGER TAIL!!!
by this time we were about an hour from our lunch res. at the blue bayou so we made a lap aroundthe park just enjoying the sites and sounds and and eachothers company.

at the Blue Bayou we requested a water side table and was told it would be about 30-40 min but we didn't care we sat and waited, in about 15 mins we had our table and ordered the famed Monte Cristo! I forgot just how big that thing was!! its a good thing we split it (by the way plate split costs are now 12$)

then after lunch we had a good time just hanging out and riding
indy, matterhorn, space, pooh, and did the walk through the castle

we walked over to DCA and got fast passes for GRR and then learned it is now connected to the system!! by then it was time to head back to the hotel to refresh and catch a quick power nap then we headed back to DL for the retiring of the colors and just hung out some more till we decided to call it a night and hit the hotel bar for a couple of drinks before going to the room for the night
