Trip insurance?

I was wondering how many of you purchased trip insurance? Particularly those of you who planned your vacation yourself as I have. I see that for around a 100.00 I can purchase fairly basic coverage, since we are leaving in less than 15 days Im not able to get more but it seems sufficient. Covers, luggage up to 750.00, plane fare if flight is cancelled even for inclement weather and I do live in Mass, covers 200.00 for a flight delay, emergency medical, and the prepaid amounts ive purchased such as hotel, dinners and the such. Im just afraid there is some catch 22 here i dont know to look for.
Any advice from insurance savy Dis'ers would be great

I've worked in the insurance industry for 20+ years and have never purchased trip insurance. Be sure and read all the fine print at least twice if you are serious about getting it. Most of the coverages mentioned could already be covered under the airline, your homeowners policy, and the like. Sorry I can't give you a positive "yeh" on purchasing. My advice would be to nix it.

My husband also thinks this most likely has a catch someplace. So ive decided against it. I will be looking into the airline though to see whats covered. No real snow herer in Bosotn yet but im dreading it will come the morning we are supposed to leave.

I always purchase travel insurance. As an agent, I've seen many clients lose a great deal of money by not purchasing insurance and having to cancel @ the last minute. For myself, it is an extra expensive ($118/2) I'd rather not pay. However, the thought of losing $1400 makes it well worth it. IMHO.
