Trip Insurance

I am thinking about purchasing trip insurance for our upcoming two week vacation at Disney. With my Dad being elderly and not in the best shape, I am would want to have coverage in case we would need to come home should he get very ill or even worse.

Since most of my vacation was paid for Disney gift cards, I can't use the travel insurance supplied by my credit card company. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Look at travelguard. See if they have a policy that will fit your needs.

You can compare many policies at insuremytrip.com. I agree with the recommendations for Travelguard. It is true that you need to buy your policy close to the time you pay for your trip for the best coverage.

I bought a policy for an airline flight. They emailed me the policy. The policy would not cover cancellations made due to a pre-existing condition. So if you are considering it because you think someone with a diagnosed condition might become too sick to travel, make sure you are reading the terms of the policy carefully.
