Trip Insurance??

This will be my first time flying Airtran to Disney. Has anyone purchased the travel insurance they offer for $14.99 per person?? Is it worth it or should I go with Disney's trip insurance?? (Thanks in advance for the advice!)

I generally don't purchase trip insurance for domestic trips. I do buy insurance for cruises, however, but not from the airline. If you booked a WDW resort package and feel the need for insurance, I would check out the policies from the Trip Insurance Store (www.tripinsurancestore.com) or Insure My Trip (www.insuremytrip.com).

Check to see exactly what they cover. We purchased AIG TravelGaurd in 2008. It was a $60 when we rented a house so we gave it a try. They ended up paying us $2000+ in co-pays and additional travel costs when my wife ended up in the hospital. No questions asked and no problems. I sent all the proper documentation and they mailed us a check.

I buy travel insurance mostly for the medical coverage although the other coverages are great as well. I have an HMO that doesnt provide coverage out of my state. We are all healthy, but you never know when your child will break an arm or leg while on vacation. A trip to the ER will cost you dearly without coverage. The cost of travel insurance is a drop in the bucket and you'll find you sleep a whole lot better knowing you are covered for just about everything. I've always used insuremytrip
