Trip Insurance?

For those of you that stay offsite in a rental home, do you usually purchase trip insurance? If so, where do you purchase it? I have been looking at some rental properties and it seems that payments are due either 30/60 days out and after that are non-refundable. We would be driving, so our biggest expenses would be the rental cost and park tickets.

Thx.

We do purchase trip insurance when we rent a home. We live in the Maine and we travel in February. There is always a good chance we will get snowed in and not be able to make the trip. We use www.insuremytrip.com and it has never been more than $80 (for 2 adults and 4 kids). When I rent a place at the beach in the summer though, I never buy trip insurance. The beach is only a couple of hours away and if an emergency came up and we couldn't go, I am sure we could find someone else that could use it.

Hello,
We also purchase trip insurance. I go through our AAA agent. The past 2 years we have rented townhomes in Windsor Hills and Crestwynd and just cover the cost of the rental. We drive, so no need to have airline tickets covered. It is worth it to me just for the peace of mind.

Thanks for the replies. I will take a look at the website, and I honestly never thought of looking into AAA.
