I'm not sure where to post this, so please move it if needed. I usually book everything seperate, but have booked a package with the free ticket upgrades for our spring break trip in March. What are your opinions on the trip insurance? The price I was given was around $165.oo. If I understand correctly, if I do not purchase the trip insurance, I will loose the $200.00 deposit only if I have to cancel or reschedule. If I don't cancel or reschedule, I'm out the insurance money. Realy wondering what some opinions are as to whether or not you usually buy it. My airfare was not purchased as part of the package.

We booked through WDW and the insurance was $69 per person. Even though we booked our air directly through southwest, it also covers that as well. So if we had to cancel, we would lose the cost of the insurance, but would get back everything else including what we paid for air.

DH is in the military, and even though his leave was approved we were still afraid they would yank him back so we did purchase the insurance thorough WDW. I had a long talk with the gentleman who booked our trip at WDW, and decided in the end that is was a good idea. For us, the piece of mind was worth the extra money. If he would have been taken off leave or deployed, losing $2000 would have just been like getting kicked when we were down!

I bought my trip insurance from AIG travel guard. It was the budget plan, but it was only $36 for 2 of us. It seemed to have good coverage for what we needed it for (traveling during hurricane season).
