Trip Insurance?

Do you normally purchase it and if so from where? I know the cancellation policy for DVC but what happens if you need to leave mid-stay? Would trip insurance cover the loss of points? Not sure if there is a reason to buy it since we are DVC members. Any feedback? Thanks!

When you make your ressie with MS they will include information from Travel Guard on a Travel Protection Plan. There is a trip cancellation & interruption plan available but keep in mind they only reimburse $5.00 per point.

The only time we have taken out trip insurance is on a cruise. We had one time that we almost missed a trip to VB, but were able to get by with only one day missed. Keep in mind... Insurance typically does not reimburse you for the full amount. Many or most time it is only 50%.

Funny I was wondering the same things....We have April UY and have a trip in March...so if we had to cancel we would loose the points so I decided to get the trip insurance I was usuing 244 points for a 2 week+ stay and figued for $63 I would give it a try....yes you only get back 5 dollars a point but it is better than losing all the points. Even if the trip is interupted it seemed fair...I am open for opinions too. Carol
