just wondering if anyone knows anything about this--we had to cancel our hawaiian back in feb just before all this virus got really bad

we have trip insurance with our CC which covers family members who arent traveling but get ill

so my mom was put in hospice in jan so when I called the travel they said that her being in hospice we would be covered

we just have a good feeling being in the middle of the ocean for 5 days and have something happen and couldnt get home

I needed to get a signed form from her dr with the diagnoses can the insurance deny the claim if they dont think its a good enough reason--mom in hospice care thanks God shes still with us but I just got a call from the assisted living who told me my mom is slipping again just a little

just wondering please dont think Im thinking more of the money then my mom but Id hate to think I did all this work of getting all the papers ready only to be turned down

Money is an important part of our lives. It gives us the ability to eat, have a roof over our heads, clothes on our body, etc. Don’t feel guilty about thinking about both your mother and money.

There’s always a chance they will deny it. The best thing you can do is read your benefits coverage and any more info you have available on the specific coverage. I know people who have had to send in the same documents 2 or 3 times, insurance companies just try to wear you out. If you think your claim is valid keep pushing. But don’t count on getting the money. Be happy if you get it but prepared to run your finances without it.

The one important thing to think about when you cruise and you are on a closed loop cruise: deporting and returning to the same port of call (your ship leaves out of Port Canaveral and ends with you getting off the ship in Port Canaveral once the cruise is over) you don't need a passport. But if you are cruising and need to get home while you are on your cruise you will need a passport in order to catch a flight from a port city. https://travel.state.gov/content/tr...al-considerations/cruise-ship-passengers.html

its funny cause the more of a run around I get the harder I push--and right now I have all the time in the world to push
we had to use this insurance quite a few years ago when my Dh had bronchitious so that one was a no brainer since the dr said he couldnt go--and it was a package deal so the form was very short and then the dr note one check and we got all the money back at once air hotel and anything else we had booked for that trip

this on the other hand was all booked separtly the cruise was DCL and since I cancelled back in feb they cancelled the cruise so we got everything back on that--even the deposit which was our penalty --so that doenst even have to be part of the insurance claim and 2 air lines
they sure dont make this easy though but they make it sound like such a big deal that theyre giving you trip protection--just as long as you dont use it

Thats a tough one, Most time insurance companies look for every loop hole they can find not to pay. (ex: it was a pre exsiting condition) so they will not cover. I wish you and your family the best...

Each insurance policy is different and may require different documents. Look at your insurance policy to see what they require
