sorry - I forgot to add this in my last post. After reading some of the horror stories posted on this site, we've decided to definitely purchase the travel insurance! However, I've heard that there are better prices through other non-disney agencies that provide similar coverage. Any suggestions or recommendations? I booked the cruise through AAA.

Thanks!!!

Check out: http://www.insuremytrip.com/

It will let you compare costs/options of a number of insurance providers at the same time. If someone in your family has asthma (or some other pre-existing condition), pay particular attention to those provisions - especially to timelines regarding exclusions.

Also make sure to read the fine print. Some trip insurance will only cover up to the cost of your cruise while other plans will cover medical expenses beyond that. Also look to see about preexisting conditions.

Yes, there is several trip insurance companies! We got ours thru
TravelEx. It is found on the google search under cruise insurance. We paid 132.00 for 4 people for a 3 day cruise.

we bought our insurance thru insuremytrip.com and for 3 of us for 5 park days and a four day and a seven day cruise it cost us $282, i did a search and this was by far the best deal i could find and its given by the same insurance company that DCL uses when you buy it thru them but at a way cheaper price.

I just purchased from Access America and got a plan called AAA Trip Assist Family Care. Cost for four for a seven night cruise was $121. Kids are free with this particular plan. We are not AAA members but I asked for this plan and told them we were not AAA members. The coverages look fine to me. We have fairly short drive to port so my major concerns were someone getting sick right before the cruise or someone getting a Norwalk type illness during the cruise. Good luck with your decision.
