Trip in January or March?

Which trip would you take?

  • Trip A: January with APs, even with cooler weather.

  • No Way! Warm weather rules... wait til March and pay more!

Ok, here is a quick poll... what would you do?

Trip A: Saturday, Jan 29th - Wednesday, Feb 2nd 2005
Pros: Cheaper airfare, have AP, cheaper AP discount on Pop Century
Con: Questionable weather (as in brrrrrrrr....)

Trip B: Sometime in March 2005
Pros: Warmer! and... warmer still!
Cons: Busier, No AP!, No AP rate (peak season), more expensive airfare.

So, would you pay an extra $500 or so for warmer weather?

Broken down this way:

Airfare probably $75 more pp, 2 people = $150
Hotel probably $35 more per night split in half = $70
Passes instead of AP which expires Feb 4th = $204.48

What would you do?

Thanks,
Karen

We went a few weeks ago in January. It was chilly but not cold. Bring sweatshirts, pants, shorts and t-shirts. First day it was about 80 then the rest of the week it was 50-60 degrees out.

We've done Jan. 3 times. Would do it again, but move to the end of Jan., as you're doing. NO crowds, easy touring. Bring a sweatshirt, you'll be fine. Kids used pool most days (in the afteroon), but we never did a waterpark.

You can see & enjoy twice as much at WDW when crowds are low. Ten minute waits in January vs 1 - 2 hour waits in March.

Definitely January. So you have to wear a jacket - big deal. No guarantee of warm weather in March either plus you have to contend with Spring Break crowds. No brainer in my book.

Me, now way! I have been and will continue to go in March. We have been in March the last five out of six years. It has been very uncrowded two times and two years ago murder and last year okay - this year I'll keep my fingers crossed. We're from the North I am not going to pay all that money to wear a coat. We have had awesome weather!!!! Maybe if you're not from the north you wouldn't mind as much????

January! We just went to Disney at the beginning of February and had two days where the temp was in the high 70s, one day when the temp was in the 60s (40s in the evening). The weather was fantastic!

I've gone in March in years past and thought the weather was way too hot, plus the crowds are ridiculous. (Of course, I'll probably still take a trip in March since we have the Florida Residents Seasonal Passes:p --but if I had to choose one month or the other, I would definitely choose January).

I've been in both Jan. & March & Jan. wins hands down! There is no guarentee you will have warm weather in March either. When I went in early March it was colder than it was this year in late Jan. Plus, there were no crowds in late Jan. we got so much more done :smooth:

January is definately the best choice!! If the money saved weren't enough reason, the low crowds would be.
