Hi everyone. I have never written a trip report before, let alone a PRE-trip report, so bear with me! I am so excited for our upcoming trip, so I thought this would be a way to get it out of my system on a daily basis. Let me back up and give you some background info. I have a wonderful DH and 3 DD's, age 9, 7, and 5. I am a HUGE Disney freak- got hooked when we went on our first trip as a family of five back in 2003. We had been there a few times before that, just for quick weekend trips (we lived in GA, a 5 hour drive to WDW), but we had never stayed onsite before. Well, we finally got to stay at the CR, thanks to Shades of Green being under renovations, and we just fell in love with WDW. We went again 2 years later, again at CR, this time MK tower view and free dining! Then last August DH and I went without out the kids for our anniversary and stayed at WL, again free dining! It was while we were on that trip that I started planning in my mind our next trip. I was thinking I would bring my daughter Alexis for her 10th birthday (a mom/daugter trip), and kind of make that a tradition as each of my girls turns 10. So I was all set, Alexis was so excited, but then we got to thinking, how can I go to Disney and leave my 2 other girls home? Can't do it. So I thought, we'll go, the 4 of us, and leave DH home. I can handle it. So I was telling my mom, and she said that she would like to go. Well why didn't I think of that! What fun! Girls only, 3 generations! About a week later, my dad decides he isn't going to be left out of this excitement, he wants to go. So much for girls only. Of course at that point my hubby decides if it isn't girls only he's not missing out. So we book it, 5 nights Pop, 2 rooms, w/ dining. So then my mom gets a call from my aunt (mom's sister)- she's never been there and feels guilty that she's never taken her 11 year old son- can she come too? Of course- the more the merrier at this point! So we are up to 9 now- if anyone else wants to come, just let me know- we won't notice the difference
So of course they put me in charge of planning the trip. Oh the pressure, oh the fun! I love love love planning disney trips! Anyway, so DH and I decide after being in the world for 6 days with all of these people, we would love to have a few days just our family, before we come home. So, I booked us at POR for 3 nights after our package ends and everyone else goes home. We will do MNSSHP, a couple of character meals, DTD, swim, relax. We think its a pretty good plan. We are flying down this trip; we usually drive down, a 16-17 hour drive from NJ. We don't mind the drive, but we got such good airfare ($49 each way) we couldn't pass it up. The kids are excited to fly- me not so much. I am a huge chicken when it comes to flying (except, of course, on Soarin'
) So that's it We leave at 9:30 am Sept 28th and return 3:30 pm on Oct 6th. I hate to wish our summer away, but I CAN"T WAIT! I would love to post some pictures here, but I can't figure out how. If anyone would like to guide me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it! Well, hope I didn't bore ya. I will post back later with our schedule, ADR's, etc. I would love advice and opinions from anyone regarding my schedule, choice of restaurants, etc. That's all for now- gotta get DD ready for a bday party. Have a great day, and thanks for reading!
