My DH & I are planning our first Christmastime trip to WDW in 2008. We were originally planning Dec 6-13 or 14 at POFQ. Now after reading about various issues with Pop Warner groups I am considering moving it up a week to Nov 29-Dec 6 or 7, but am concerned about flight costs on the trip down since it will still be Thanksgiving weekend. Any opinions on costs, crowds or anything else that might help us decide will be appreciated. We normally go at the end of Sept for our anniversary and are spoiled by the light crowds then. How will Dec compare?

I read on another thread that pop warner is the first week of December. I would make sure you know the exact dates before changing. I have checked into an early December trip also. Everything I have found suggests the crowds are very low. We would love to see the Christmas Decor.

Enjoy

Thanks!

Anyone else? I know we must have some experienced Disers out there when it comes to traveling at that time.

Would this thread be better off somewhere else? I wasn't sure where the best place to post was.

Sorry, I've never been to WDW during this time, but I just wanted to suggest posting this question on the Theme Park Attractions and Strategies forum. You may get more responses there.

Sept. has always been lighter from our experiences. We do enjoy the Christmas decorations and if you have not been during that time, then I would definately reccommend it. However we have noticed that it is becoming increasingly more busy at that time of year. It seems that everyone has read the books that say it is slow then and now it is no so much so. We went the second week of Dec. to avoid the Pop Warner groups this year and we experienced heavier than normal lines on the major attractions ( for this time of year). You cannot walk on and reride the major rides as frequently as you can in Sept. So if you go with the mindset that it will be busier than you are used to in Sept. and plan accordingly, you should not experience too much difficulty.
