Has anyone purchased trip cancellation insurance to cover costs of a rented vacation home?
I looked into some companies like Amex Insurance and the one through CAA and was told that if you rent a vacation home privately (through VRBO etc.), that it would NOT be covered by any trip cancellation policy. If I had rented it via a rental property company, then it would be covered.
Does anyone have recommendations for insurance companies from whom they have purchased trip cancellation, that did cover a vacation home rental that you rented privately?
