My husband and I are taking the kids to Disney in May. Our youngest will need a nap during the day and sleeps best in a separate room. My question is, which resort would you choose?

Art of Animation: Family Suite ($283/nt)

Beach Club: Standard Room ($306/nt)

Wilderness Lodge: Standard Room ($263/nt)

I will need to rent a crib for our 1 year old and I worry about having enough space in the room. I definitely would prefer Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge because they seem nicer and have boat access. Would you forget about the separate room and stay at a nicer hotel or stay at A of A with a separate room?

Thanks for your input!

For myself I have stayed at the AOA in the lion king suites and my kids loved it (4 and 5). The resort is themed so it is great for your 5 year old. I loved the room. It came with 3 different beds, the main queen bed in the bedroom, there is a guest bed over the room table and there is sofa pull out bed. A great thing - 2 baths. It was 4 of us and it was enough room.

I'll be actually staying there again in the little mermaids room in October of this year.

Sorry I've never stayed at the other resorts, wish I could be of more help with those. I like kid-themed resorts for the kids sake so I don't see myself ever staying at those resorts until they are a little older, but that is my personal choice. I just think it's really what you're into and what you have planned for your vacation. Good luck and happy planning!:)

When my kids were that young, it was ALWAYS best to get a suite type room. Even at night when we would put them to bed at the normal time to not throw them off routine, it was nice to not have to go to bed at 8 with them, lol. I can see the pull of the deluxe but I think you would be able to keep your sanity a little longer if you went for the suite. :)

When we went last march my son was 18 months old and needed a nap everyday. He needs to sleep in a room by himself or he won't go to sleep. We stayed at AKL in a regular room. Put him in the pack and play in the dressing area, closed the drapes so it would be dark and then went outside on the balcony and watched the animals have a snack and read. It worked out great. We kept the balcony door open a crack so we can hear him and he took naps everyday with out a problem. The best thing about deluxe resorts is the balcony :)

I think WL would be perfect. The boat access to MK is key and so easy to pop over for a nap. Plus it is a wonderful resort to just sit back and relax in as well. You can walk over to Fort Wilderness and see the horses at the stable, play on the sandy beach area ( they roast marshmallows and play movies in the evening). Also they have a great kids club for your 5 year old to enjoy!
