Woke up at 6:50 a.m. to find that the forecast was for cooler and dryer weather. Yippee! The high ended up around 89 but with less humidity, it felt wonderful.
I finished packing and was checked out of the Beach Club by 9:30. Then I was off to the MK. By the time I arrived, the crowds were moderate and within the hour they were bordering on huge. There were bunches of tour groups everywhere I looked.
I rode Aladdin for the first time and saw the Tiki Birds. Then I roamed around the park spending some time at the base of Splash Mtn just watching people come down the hill. It was very amusing.
After that I headed off to meet up with Chris and Jen. I got another Dole Whip and we talked for a bit. Then the three of us went over to ride Pirates of the Caribbean, which had the first measurable line of the trip. After that we went to the Country Bear Jamboree. Once we left there I wanted lunch so it was off to Pecos Bills through ever increasing crowds. I got their chicken wrap. Well actually I got it twice. An unruly group of teens were blocking the exit from the food area and my tray went flying. Of course not so much as a I'm Sorry from the kids or the chaperones. Finally I got seated, ate and then got out of the MK.
We walked over to the Contemporary and caught a bus to DTD. The new toy store is adorable. I made a picture of a mutant Mr. Potato Head. Then it was time to say goodbye to the kids. Their flight was at 7 p.m. and I was ready to check into Coronado Springs. The bus was waiting for me and off I went.
This stay, like the BC, is my first for this hotel. I've been to visit several times, mostly to enjoy the food at the Pepper Market. I would be staying in the Cabanas in building 9A. My room was 9104. Oh, just to let you know, for those of you who keep track of such things, my room at the Beach Club was 4726 and 4580 at the AKL. The room at CSR looked out on one of the quiet pools.
After calling home, I tried to rest but was too hyper so I went to get supper. Then back to the room trying to convince myself that I should hang out at the hotel for the evening. It didn't work and I headed off to MGM to ride the ToT at night. After waiting 30+ minutes for a bus (I hope this is not the norm) I was heading down Sunset Blvd. Each ride saw less and less people as most were headed off to Fantasmic. On ride #1 I was seated with a couple that had never been on before. That was pretty funny. On rides 2 and 3 I met another couple who I struck up a conversation with. I lost them after ride #3 and thought I should head back to the hotel. However, as I approached the ride entrance, my legs just took me in again. I thought, Well that couple is smarter than me they left. Then I walked in the Library and there they were. We all cracked up laughing.
It seemed the less people who were there, the longer the ride lasted and the special effects were increased. This was the first time I've ridden the ToT in full darkness. It was wicked cool!
Four rides later, I was ToT'd out and besides, it was now 9 p.m. and they were closed. I got back to the bus and found myself on one with the only funny bus driver I saw the whole trip. He was cracking jokes fast and furious.
Arrived at the hotel around 9:30, watched some TV and it was lights out by 10:30.
High Points: My room at CSR. Being with Chris and Jen on their last day here. The bus driver at MGM. The weather with less humidity. The couple I went on the ToT with 3 times.
Low Point: The group at Pecos Bills.
Weird Points: Some of the special effects at the ToT. The bellhop at the ToT.
Best Point: The Tower of Terror at night!
