Tried to add dining plan

So we decided to add the DDP to our reservation by calling an agent this morning. I thought everything was fine until she gave me the price difference of $360-ish. Huh? To add DDP two adults and one child for a 7 night stay? That's about half of what I had calculated. So I ask her to check the package again, joking with her that I'd be happy to take it at 50% off, but something isn't right unless the hotel price went down. So she finally figures out the system kicked my 5 yo out of the reservation. Glad I caught that!

She told me they're working with a new computer system and they've been having trouble as they adjust to it. She also told me I'd be getting an e-mail with the updated amount and reservation. I never got it. I tried to look up my reservation at the Disney website but it was down most of the day. I finally got it to load tonight and the reservation is the same as it was BEFORE I added the DDP. I don't see any evidence that it's there. In fact, the price is what it was without the DDP. Do you think this will get fixed? Or do I need to call back? I'm in no rush as my 45 days out is not until the end of March.

I'm thinking of waiting a week or two to get the glitches out of their system and then calling back to confirm. I'm glad it's just a minor thing for us and nothing like losing our reservation or hotel all together but geeze, I could see that happening to somebody else since they kicked off my daughter and then the DDP. Just wanted to know if anybody else is having trouble?

p.s. I wasn't sure if this fit here or under resorts, but since my issue was with adding the DDP, I put it here.

I would probably wait a day or so since you are in no rush.

By my rough calculations the basic plan should cost around $630 for your stay.

Interesting. Too bad she didn't figure out what really happened - that the price she quoted you, despite all package requirements, was merely the cost of adding the DDP for ONE adult for seven nights!

Not only did the system kick out your five year old, it kicked out either your or your spouse from the reservation as well!
$39.99 x 7 = $279.93
$10.99 x 7 = $76.93
$279.93 + $76.93 = $356.86 = about the $360 difference YOU noticed right away!

Do you know if she had to cancel your original ressie, then rebook with the DDP?

I added QSDP to our reservation after the fact, and they did NOT have to cancel and rebook anything.

Dogodisney: she didn't mention having to cancel anything. I thing she just updated the information. Or at least she tried since it doesn't seem like it actually took.

Katie: That's possible too. I just assumed she dropped my daughter completely including her 7-day park ticket. That plus the $77ish for DDP would add up to about the difference she was quoting me.

Either way it was wrong and glad I'm caught it although now I may be back to square one.

If you had a room only reservation, they would have had to cancel and rebook it as a package reservation since you can't add DDP to a room only reservation. If you already had a package reservation they could just add it.

That makes sense. I did have a magic your way package (with resort and tickets) so I guess she was just adding it.

I called three days ago to add QSD to my package. She gave me a price that was less than I thought it would be but figured that I would check it out later.

That night I checked my ressie online and noticed that my oldest son had dropped off the reservation.

I called again to make sure everyone was on the ressie-the CM added my son back on-but he just dropped off again immediately. He had to call cust. service to get everything right-about a 10 min. wait.

Make sure all of your party is listed on the reservation-someone may have been dropped.

Sounds like we had the same experience. We did catch that she had dropped my daughter and thought i had it fixed. However, when I check online we don't have the DDP on our reservation. It's like my phone call never happened :confused3

The plot thickens.

In the mail yesterday, I got my vacation statement from Disney and the DDP is on there and the amount and everything else as far as I can tell is correct (everybody who should be on the reservation is). Yet, whenever I check my account online it is still not showing the DDP and the amount is what it was before the DDP was added. What gives? Should I trust it's all in there and that my paper copy is correct?

I also received a mailed copy of my reservation from my first call. It did have the dining added and All of the people that were supposed to be on the reservation. It did not have the correct price-it was short by one child's QS dining plan.

The next day I received another mailed copy of me reservation with the correct price. I'm sure it was changed because I made another call to WD Travel co. I am now confident that my reservation is right and will have no problems at check in.

If you are worried, I would make another call and make sure everything is correct.:goodvibes

So I have a question If I wanted to Add It to our 4/3 package 1, can we do that and #2 how Much does It run for two adults? sorr about buting In:goodvibes

Just a long shot, but try clearing all your files and cookies and see what the site says after that.

Thanks for the suggestion. Just tried that and it didn't work. Still the same price as without the dining plan.

For the PP who asked about adding DDP on the 4/3 deal. That is what I did and it wasn't a problem (except for the seeing it online part). Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but it was $39.99 per day for adult and $10.99 per day for child (ages 3-9)

It is $39.99 per person, per night you are staying on property. And yes, you can add it to the 4/3 package but keep in the mind the 4/3 discount does not apply to the dining. :goodvibes
