Had some wonderful new experiences at WDW this week:

Beaches & Cream twice - the burgers were good, but we've found that most of the burgers at WDW are similar, whether they be Cosmic Ray's (another of our favorite places) or even on the Disney ships. The milkshakes were great, too! If you're in a hurry, order take out and sit outside. The menu is more limited, but we were able to get what we wanted, including the onion rings!

O'Hana for 16 people! Had two tables of 8 and the food was as good as we remembered. No one else in our family had eaten there, so it was a great start to our 50th anniversary week for my parents. Ordered a special birthday cake for my brother and it was really tasty, too.

Crystal Palace for 17 people before MVMCP - This actually got great ratings from all 17 people, including my "organic-food only nanny", who found lots of things to eat. 17 people were only $400 - not bad.

Yachtsman Steakhouse for 12 adults - We originally wanted CA Grill and couldn't get in for 12 people, so this was a fall back, but I will go here again before we go back to CA Grill. I can't say enough about our server and the food. Everyone LOVED it! According to our server, several chefs and staff from CA Grill have relocated to YS - interesting. We are owners at BCV, so the convenience can't be beat. Much more pricey than the others, but worth it for a special night out.

Boardwalk Bakery - We ordered a special cake for YS night for mom and dad's anniversary. They don't deliver, so I picked it up, but it was a chocolate Mickey cake with chocolate ears and pink "flesh" - it was so pretty! The goodies there looked really good, but I didn't indulge beyond the cake.

ABC Commissary - OK, so one of our 4 nights with ALL of the family I didn't book a dinner (this was because everyone said I was being too crazy about booking "scheduled time". So, at MGM before Fantasmic, suddenly everyone wants to eat. My SIL says "let's just go to the Brown Derby, we'll be able to get in". Yeah, right. No one believed me, so I had to put up with going in and asking the CM for a walk-in for 14 people! After she told us it would be two hours and we'd be split up, SIL went to check with the others and I had the opportunity to tell the CM that I knew how absurd the request was. So, we all trooped to ABC Commissary. It was food - that's about it. Cheap for 14, and filled the stomach, but we won't be back. At least now everyone understands that I am not diseased and obsessed with WHY we need to make a PS - even in Dec and for 14 people!

LTT - Last dinner. It was a great ending and the baby (20 months) finally went in for a hug with Minne so it was a perfect finale. Great food and a welcome respite from ordering or choosing food! Oh, did I mention it was 45 degrees outside and it was really toasty inside?

Enjoy!

Wow! It sounds like you did a lot of the work setting this up for your family. I hope they thanked you for doing it! :wizard:

Thanks for the great report. I'm impressed with all that you were able to coordinate for meals with such large numbers! :grouphug:

Wow, I was surprised to hear about the burgers at B&C being the same as many of the other places in WDW. We kept hearing how great they were so were planning to go there in April.
Would you say they were the same as Pecos Bill or Sci Fi? I'm not a big fan of Sci Fi but they did have great burgers!!!! Best we had while we were there.
We may go back there if the B&C ones are more like the counter services.

I haven't been to Pecos Bill's or SciFi, so I can't compare the burgers. I've had burgers at Cosmic Ray's and on the Disney Magic as well as at B&C and they were all pretty comparable (and all better than your average fast-food burger, in my opinion.) The ice cream at B&C was great - good milkshakes! But, I wouldn't trek out to the Boardwalk or to Beach Club just for that.....(only my humble opinion!)

I've had burgers at both Pecos Bill's and B&C...in my humble opinion B&C burgers are really good!...Pecos Bill's are good because you can put all the toppings on yourself and that makes them great, but for a purely good hamburger served hot with whatever toppings you order...B&C cannot be beat...and their onion rings rank right up there with angel haloes!

The ice cream desserts are incredible :cloud9: ...as well as their malts and milkshakes  ...but be forwarned...share! DO NOT order a malt, milkshake or dessert just for yourself...unless that is ALL you plan to eat.

I have had the burgers at B&C and SciFi and they are similar but I like the atmosphere at B&C alittle better. I think the thing I really like is the squeeze bottles of ketchup and mustard that they give you at both of theses restaurants. I know that it is the same ketchup and mustard they use all of the "World" but it tastes better coming out of these bottles.

I think that B&C has a better menu overall and that their shakes and malts are the best in Disney. Can't beat a burger with a malt at B&C.

Have fun!!!!

Flexsmom, DW and I were at WDW last week and ate at 'Ohanas on Wednesday (Dec. 15). We were there at 5:40 to about 7:00 that evening. There was a large group of people with a cake across the aisle from us, just wondering if that could have been your group.
