Trick or Treating in the campground

I saw in a previous post where somebody mentioned that "Some kids do go trick or treating in the campground" on Halloween night.

Has anyone on here been to FW on halloween and participated in this?

I will be there during this time. We plan on going to the MNSSHP on the 28th, but were planning on being around the campground th 31st.

I hear that many campers will be decorating so I was wondering if anyone on here has done this? Or is anyone else on here going to be at FW over halloween and plan on letting their kids go trick or treating in the campground, and who plans on having candy just in case kids come by their site to trick or treat?

I always do one of two things. If we're "home" (at camp) we get on the golf cart all dressed up and pass out bags that I pre-make before leaving for vacation (last time I was able to hand out about 50). We then ride around and pass out the candy to little kids we see dressed up. If we're not "home", I leave 2 containers of treats out on a little camp table set up by the curb side. I leave one with candy for the 2-legged treaters and one for the 4-legged. In the past, I'd say that at least 25% of the people leave treats out for kids and a few of those even sit out there to pass it out personally. As for us, we'll be at MNSSHP on the 31st, so we'll have the table set up this year.

If you wnt your kids to get a HUGE amount of treats, take them to the nearby community of Celebration. Five miles or so from the campground. It will be crowded, loads of kids, and loads of treats.
