Trick or Treat Party Dilemma

Ok-Hi, first post here but learning soo much for our upcoming trip 9/30-10/3. You guys are a wealth of important and fun info...thanks!
We are attending the TOTP on 10/3 but I have a dilemma in regards to the fireworks in DL. I really want the kids to see the fireworks IN DL (so much more magical in my opinion ) This is the only night we are there for the fireworks.
So I was hoping we could go to the TOTP first, hop over to DL for fireworks...could even send DH to stake out spots earlier, then return to TOTP for the remainder.
My question/advice seeking from you experts is:
Would this be easy to do? (already called Disney and they said it would be fine for re-entry)
Would I miss out on a lot at TOTP if we left for the fireworks?
I am not too concerned if we don't hit EVERY candy station. I just wanted the atmosphere, characters in costume, music etc..
Our kids are 1.5, 3.5, and 8.
Thanks for any advice/opinions/personal expereince with this.

um fireworks would be at 9.15 probley and the party goes till 11 i think
the only thing you could miss out on is the small parade ive heard abot but its at the end the party from what i read. we are gona watch fireworks from the dca park when we know there going off on the friday we are there to see them

I haven't been to DCA yet so is the view of the fireworks good and where is the best spot in DCA if we decided to stay at the TOTP?
I am just wondering if we would have enough time at the TOTP before and after if we decided to go to DL to see the fireworks?

Fridays the TOT party is from 7:30-11:30pm....fireworks are always at 9:25...I would say you have a perfectly good shot at going over to DL to see the fireworks then coming back over to DCA to finish out the party...you can go up the stairs of the main street train station and stand right there and get a good view of the fireworks

Cool-so your saying not to go all the way down to the castle to view the fireworks?...I have never watched them anywhere else besides at the hub...Is the train station a good place, sounds like you like it! I am assuming the fireworks music is played around the park right..?

I also think you'd be fine to leave for the fireworks if you want. The party at DCA is not a stuctured thing that you can't miss a minute of.

I would not try to watch from DCA or from the esplanade if you want the kids to really experience the magic of the fireworks though.

I think you'd be fine from the train station or anywhere on main street really. No need to be all the way up in front of the castle. Depending on the crowds, getting in and out of there could take a chunk of your party time and I doubt that your DH would enjoy trying to hold spots for your whole family up there anyway.

Fabulous! Thanks for your opinion. I guess we could leave the TOTP and see how far we can get down main street to the castle and scope-out the crowds. I wouldn't want to be stuck on Main Street while trying to get back to the TOTP! Good Point!

I think 1-1.5 hrs at TOTP, then fireworks, and 1-1.5 hrs after would be enough time...does that make sense?

One thing to be aware of...if you and your husband are in costume you will NOT be allowed into Disneyland, but your kids being in costume should be ok, since they are all under the age of 9.

Yes, I was aware of that restriction. My girls are both Minnie Mouse and I was going to wear a polka dot skirt and throw on some minnie ears...but nothing that I couldn't change to make it "ok" for DL.
