From what I can tell, it appears that Triceratops Discovery Trail has closed permanently. I don't think that will affect anyone's travel plans. It was good to watch it for a few minutes, but the queue seemed unnecessarily long. I think it took me 5 minutes to walk through it. So what will go in its place? I hope it will be a GCII wooden coaster called the Excavator (hmmm...where have I heard that before? :) ).

Hey, Barry, is that the thing where you walk through and there is a dinosaur in it? They take 3 kid volunteers and they can pet it and all? If it is, it won't affect my plans, but my mom will be seriously disappointed. She loved it. My brother is deaf, so she always used that to get him picked as one of the volunteers. Of course, now that he is going on 15, his chances of getting picked would be a lot slimmer anyway!

My dd will be very disappointed. She read the guidebook on UO/IOA and that was one of the things she specifically wanted to see.

As for what should replace it...A HAUNTED MANSION! Why don't theme parks do Haunted Mansions anymore? PAramount King's Dominion put in the Scooby Doo Mystery Mansion, but it's more of a Buzz Lightyear type shoot 'em ride (Which I also love!) than a haunted house! I want to be scared!

Webmaster Barry, have you tried the rollercoasters at PKD or BG in VA? Like Alpengeist? Or the Volcano? Or the Hurler?

Level the area & put something good in. That's all that can be hoped for...

A haunted mansion would do better in LC. In JP, a coaster would be great.

I would love to see some sort of similator ride like spiderman where the ride vehicles take a tour of jurassic park. something indoors with special effects, maybe sort of like the dinosour ride at animal kingdom, but much better.
I'm a coaster chicken. don't we have enough of those already? let them build something really neat that we can all ride :D

Weren't they planning on building a Van Helsing ride like the one in California at IOA? Would it matter if it was in the Jurassic Park Area?

Ohhh that's a shame.....I rather liked the smell of the old thing....!!! In it's place............keep the path.....and let it take you to a Jurassic Spa.....iced fountains shooting out, bubbling jacuzzi's, seating in large dinosaur eggs filled with soft feathered cushions and a large oyster bar... and champagne on ice!!Mmmmm!!!!

Selina, I am just shocked at you!! You completely forgot to mention the part about getting a massage from an Orlando Bloom look-alike! ;)

Oh, yeah, and for you guys out there...a massage by a Jennifer Garner look-alike!

This has been a long time coming. If anything, it's surprising they kept it as long as they did.

From the moment they abandoned the original concept, with the elaborate tour and the videos at each step of the queue path and the excellent cast members, I knew the dear old thing's days were numbered.

Does anyone remember how long the original concept lasted? It was great.
