The following has been taken from "All Ears", the electronic newsletter put out by Deb Wills (who runs www.WDWIG.com) and who is a very reliable source of information.

One of the big complaints coming from those needing to rent a wheelchair at the theme parks is the distance between the rental area from their personal vehicles. This month will see the testing of a new service for disabled guests -- courtesy wheelchairs in the designated parking lots. The wheelchairs are strictly for guests to get to and from the rental area. These wheelchairs will be different than the ones rented inside the theme parks and will not be allowed inside the theme parks.

If you participate in this program, be sure to go to Guest Services and provide feedback -- and let All Ears know what you thought, too!

Thanks for posting this.
I know that the distance from the parking area to the rental area is a problem for quite a few people, so it will be interesting to see how this goes.

I think it is great. This should be a big help to many people. I always felt that getting to the w/c rental from your car was sorta like "you can't get there from here!"

That's good news. AK parking lot comes to mind LOL, I don't know why it seeeems soooo long??

MK and Epcot seemed the longest to me!

They might all be the same distance, but at AK it seems like you are in a parking lot desert with the oasis far, far up ahead. My FIL and MIL went there once, but he decided it was too long to walk from the bus or parking, so they never went back. He talks each year about renting a scooter, but never has.
