Does anyone know when we can make reservations for the TRex restaurant? Do we have to wait until they open and book through them or can we book with Disney Dining?:confused3

I was told by a Dining CM that we had to wait until they announced an "opening date" and then we could book for anytime after that.

I thought since they were not owned by Disney we wouldn't be able to do ADRs-similar to RFC in DTD?

Where is this restaurant? Sorry but I have missed the info on it.

I don't know for sure, but I was thinking that since this is also owned by the same company as RFC, you probably wouldn't be able to make ress through WDW dining. I have seen several different dates as to the speculated opening date, I heard Fall, I heard November and then lastly I have heard by the end of the year, but it all boils down to the fact that they probably just don't know yet.

You can make reservations for RFC through Disney Dining...they just don't take the DDP. Like I said, the Dining CM I talked to last week told me we would be able to but not until the opening date was announced. :goodvibes

Yes, you can make reservations through us at dining at the AK RFC location. DTD RFC takes it's own. They both take walks up for same day, no reservations at either are possible same day. As far as T-Rex goes, we have been given no information as of yet. Don't even know if we will book it when it does open. I guess time will tell. :confused3

Only Lamont Cranston knows when they take ADR'S, or if they will take ADR's.

OK, now on All Ears it says TRex will be open at the end of October and that we can make reservations by calling 1 407 WDW DINE. Has anyone tried to call for reservations yet? I was waiting to hear before I call again!!

You can make dining reservations at the RFC...If you are going to the DTD location you must call them directly to make your ADR...If you are going to the AK location you can make an ADR through Disney Dining...Both do not accept the plan.

It is Down Town Disney located near the Lego store and McDonalds...It is owned by the same people that own RFC....

Many people are confused about this...You can only make ADR for the RFC through the Disney Dining if you are going to the AK location...Must call DTD location directly...You are right about them not taking the plan and likely that T-Rex will not either...

I hope they announce something soon :wizard:

I just tried myself. They still don't know when ADR's will be available for it.

The announcement that it is opening in mid-October can be found in the latest WDW update at mouseplanet.com. I don't think it is on allears yet.

The Mickey Monitor(AP newsletter) says it will be opening in early November. We are going ot make a RFC ressie as a backup, just in case.

I'm hoping to take my three children here to eat during our trip December 19-24.

T-Rex at Downtown Disney Will Take Guests on a Dining Adventure to a Prehistoric Time when Restaurant Debuts in October

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Walt Disney World guests will go on an adventure back in time to dine among the dinosaurs when T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure, A Place to Eat, Shop, Explore and Discover opens it doors by late October at Downtown Disney.

T-Rex, developed by Schussler Creative, Inc., and operated by Landry's Restaurants, Inc., features dining and retail in a 30,000-square-foot, 600-seat interactive prehistoric environment. The concept is built around water, fire and ice: Guests will be greeted with life-size animatronic dinosaurs that live among cascading waterfalls, bubbling geysers, a fossil dig site and much more.

Schussler Creative Chairman Steve Schussler, the founder of Rainforest Café and T-Rex restaurants, depicts the experience as "edutainment," noting that this "treat for all five senses" includes artifacts such as fossils -- all carefully labeled -- that are hundreds of millions of years old, carefully crafted animatronic dinosaurs, and even a meteorite found in Argentina.

A full-size skeleton replica of Argentinosaurus, one of the largest of the dinosaurs and copied from a museum specimen about 125 feet in length, looms over the entrance, joined by a Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton.

The theme carries over to the menu, which features items with names such as Caesarsaurus (Caesar salad), Raptor Ribs (Asian BBQ ribs), Pterodactyl Wings (Buffalo chicken wings), Triassic Tortellini (tri-colored cheese tortellini) and Gigantosaurus Burger (think really big hamburger!).

Menu choices range from starters (appetizers, salads and soups) to pastas, burgers and sandwiches to a broad selection of entrees plus desserts. Some favorites include rotisserie chicken, fried shrimp, steaks and ribs, tarragon chicken salad sandwich, Cobb salad and "Chocolate Extinction." Guests will be able to make reservations by calling 407/WDW-DINE.
