My husband and I go to Disney every year but still haven't eaten at TREX. We always walk by and think "that would be so fun!" We love dinosaurs and are adult children, but is it worth going to as adults? How is the food, service, atmosphere? Is it more of a place we should just poke our head in and grab a drink at? We have a reservation so wondering what peoples thoughts were. Thanks!

The food is nothing spectacular. You can do much better at other places at Disney Springs.

Are there any Landry's operated restaurants that don't taste like the food was just freshly microwaved? I've been to the Rainforest Cafe 2-3 times in Nashville and the food it just awful along with the Landry's owned Aquarium restaurant. Some people seem to like Yak and Yeti...maybe frozen Chinese microwaves better than other types of cuisine??? :confused3:confused3:confused3

Food = Applebee's with dinosaurs.

Yes!

Really loud dinosaurs. Louder than my middle school cafeteria lunch duty post.

Obviously it isn't for me. But if you love dinosaurs, you may enjoy the atmosphere. I like the idea a PP had about getting a drink at the bar to soak in the surroundings. The food was low quality when we went, lots of fried stuff on the menu.

Go to the bar. Have a drink and maybe some appetizers. Don't have your actual dinner there. There are so many better places for food at Disney Springs.

Maybe im extra giggly today...this made me laugh :lmao: :rotfl2:

I agree with the others, grab a drink at the bar. No reservations needed. TRex is a lot of fun...I like the place. BUT its true that there are better options for dinner at Disney Springs. I'd start off with a drink at the bar at TRex, shop around, then have dinner some place else. Raglan Road is awesome if you want to be entertained while you eat. There's also a lot of new places to eat....I've always wanted to try Morimoto and Boat House.

It's very loud but cool. It's just like rainforest cafe or planet hollywood for quality, basically chain restaurant food but if you've never done it why not. We usually share an app get salads and share the extinction thing for dessert.

I think I'm in the minority here but...I actually really liked TREX, as did my husband! Food was good (better than Applebees! Or maybe Applebees is really bad where I live?) and the theming was fun. If you're a big foodie, you'd probably think the food was kind of meh, but we enjoyed what we ate and had a good time. It is kind of loud, but that's part of the fun!

I agree, we love TRex. We thought the food was good, the service was really good, and yes, the place is loud, but, it doesn't bother us. We loved the dinosaurs and meteor shower. And, being Laundry's Select card holder, no ADR needed. We walk right up to the podium and are seated within 5 minutes. Our favorite dessert is the Ice Age Indulgence, so good!

T-Rex is more about the atmosphere & dinos than the food. I second or third the PPs suggestions: get a drink at the bar & have a good look around. Then get dinner at Raglan Road.

I really like the shark water (Sprite with coconut syrup) and the Chocolate Extinction dessert. But then, Applebees is one of my favorite restaurants! :teeth:

We have only been once and enjoyed it and are going again in Dec.

We ate there last week and enjoyed it although we had free dining during our trip which I think makes the food taste a little better as we don't care too much about the bill. I will agree with the previous posters that it was freezing in the restaurant and very loud. Our waitress was one of the best we had in Disney during our two week holiday!

DH and I are going to try T-Rex for lunch on our Nov trip for the first time. I will have $25 Landry's credit to use and we want to check it out.

Our family loves TREX. Granted it's not fine dining, however we've never had a bad meal there and actually try to go every trip. And yes it's very LOUD and freezing. We always sit in the ice cave, but the bar looks like fun.
