We already have January reservations for VWL. Our friends want to join us & the only availability open is at Treehouse Villas. We have never stayed there & I would like some thoughts or advice on this property. Thanks in advance!

LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM! They have turned into our favorite place to stay. We love having 3 BR for the "price" of a 2BR. Love having your own "house" and not having to hear neighbors.....

Was able to stay there last September with a group of 8 adults...we had a blast.

Awesome villas, very peaceful area....but also keep in mind that means you aren't "in the mix" of a resort. You won't step outside and have all the hustle and bustle, think more of a laid back campground area, etc.

Forgot until I read your post...Disney used the word "Glamping" to describe the THV's when they were still working on them. What was it (glamourous) camping? Anyway, in my mind it is kind of like camping, but with a nice upscale touch and not having to sleep in the ground and have to deal with the bugs!!!:rotfl:

We've stayed once and will be there again in January and hoping to get in for next Christmas.

If you have a car, I would request to be toward the entrance of the resort, if not, I would ask to be near a bus stop or near the Grandstand walking trail. We loved THV #7030, on the water, close to pool, walkway, fairly close to boat dock.

Yes, very good requests. The terminology I would use is near the North bus stop with a car or near the south bus stop without a car.

Its not too far of a walk to grandstand and being near the south bus stop is definitely convenient for the path over. Being near the north bus stop with a car keeps you from getting stuck behind busses while trying to leave the area.

While having a car is convenient, it is not a deal breaker to me, just know you have a little more walking (about 5-10 minutes to grandstand area and maybe 15 minutes to springs)

We stayed there this past summer.. we LOVED THEM.. so much space.. so peaceful... highly recommend!!!

My least favorite DVC property.

could you indicate why? Most everyone else (including myself) love them, so it would be helpful to know what you didn't like that makes it your least favorite.

We stayed there in Sept 2010. Loved them, but wish we had a car. It was difficult to get to ADRs in the very early morning because you had to take the internal bus or boat and then transfer to another bus. We ended up taking a taxi several mornings.

Thanks for all of the info. I am thinking of booking our next vacay there--after our stay in January at VWL. :goodvibes

We stayed for only 1 night in November, (before a DCL cruise) it was just to try one out with our family, and as far as we're concerned, it was a rousing success. We did have a car, but we used the boat transportation to DTD, and the DGC used the walking path to the pool at Grandstand with their dad.

Someone previously mentioned "no neighbors" and we all felt that we were really in our own house.

We all found something we liked to eat at the counter service. We only have 100 SSR points, but I'm going to be saving them for treehouse stays!

Bobbi:goodvibes

PS. The Disney special touches are all over...I loved the bunk bed bedspreads with the images of the treehouses themselves, that's just one example.

I want to try THV. During our first DVC stay way back in 1993 (banked all our first year's points to go Easter the next year) the buses from DVC (now OKW) were shared with the original Treehouase villas and we got to ride through them every day.
They looked cool even back then and I wished that a DVC stay was possible there.
A whole villa for 2 people is not an economical use of points but I will try it some day. It reminds me of OKW quiet and laid back and roomy!
have a great time!:)

We stayed in a THV this past January and absolutely loved it. We have a reservation for next October and can't wait. Love the peace and quiet, love the individual unit feel to them. Love being in the woods, yet close enough to everything.

I also loved the end table made up of three logs--when you look at it from above it's a Mickey head! And I love love love the curtains in the whole villa--a sage green with a delicate leaf/fern pattern in white. I want it.

We're planning to stay in a THV for two nights in January. We'd appreciate any advice for a family of 5 (kids 12, 10, and 3). We won't have a car, so should we request something near the boat dock for DTD or something else.

We plan to stay at OKW for 8 days with the grandparents and then two nights on our own in a THV to try them out.

There are Treehouse Villas open and no Saratoga Springs villas open, that is interesting. :confused3
