We are interested in renting DVC points for a Trehouse Villa at SSR. Do I have to find someone offering points specifically for THV or will any points for SSR do?

Any will do, as THV is part of SSR.

Any points will work but it will probably be best to find someone with the 11 month home advantage and make your plans well in advance. The THV can be hard to get.

So true, there are only 60 of them so the demand far out weighs the available inventory.
