Just returned from a 7 night trip staying at the SSR-Treehouse Villas. We arrived before our owner, so we checked in and she had requested a water/river view. When we drove to the villa, there was no water view. We were assigned a pool view. I called the front desk, and asked for a view of the boats on the river. We were reassigned to a villa right next to the boat dock. You could almost see the river thru the trees from the master bedroom. We were pleased. It was really quiet where we were, and staying right next to the boat dock was a plus when travelling to DTD. We ate at House of Blues one evening... and also took the boat to SSR to eat at The Turf Club. We had refillable mugs, so we filled them at the counter service at SSR. We had a rental car, picked up at the airport, and we were glad we had the car. We went to all 4 parks, and attended several F&W events, including the 3D Fireworks Dessert Party, and the French Luncheon.
THV was fun, and I would stay there again with a car. It was so quiet.
One con was that there was only one internet hookup in the master bedroom. We had two laptops, no router, and we had to share.
It was an amazing trip. We only had 4 adults, and we had plenty of room. We were in Villa 7021.

Thanks for the report. Trying to decide if we should book one next week when our 11m window opens up. We are a family of 5 with dds who will be 8, almost 6 and 3 during our next trip. I feel like we would have to have a car, and worry a bit about feeling isolated. I guess we'll never know if we like them without trying.

I have been wanting to add on so bad! (we own at BLT and BWV)

We are staying at THV for one night in December before our cruise, and if we like it i might want to add on SSR points thru resale instead of somewhere else!

Just an FYI. Most DVC resorts at WDW only have one hard wired internet connection per villa.

:earsboy: Bill

I'm glad you enjoyed it. We stayed there earlier this year, water view also. It was fun for the novelty but we would not stay there again (we were 4 adults also). Even with a car, it's pretty far removed.

Thanks for the report. Our first time at THV is comming up soon! :cool1:

Thanks for the report. We stayed at Congress Park at SSR this past weekend and went for a run back in the Treehouses. I think they are so cool and would like to give one a try, but during our run I realized I'd definitely want a car. It would be an annoyance to have to transfer buses all the time. I'm a big fan of the bus system, but to transfer every time I want to go to the parks would get under my skin.

They sure do look cool, though! Glad to hear they accommodated your request for location.

When our party split up, the young ones stayed at the park with the car, us old folks took the bus back and the transfer was not bad at all. You just get off at the first stop at SSR and take the Treehouse bus which is usually waiting. We were about 5 houses from the bus stop, but the driver just dropped us off at the boatdock which was next to our treehouse. I even sent DH back via bus one night and he did OK...

How far of a walk is it from the Treehouses to the Turf Club. We really want to try a stay at a Treehouse but we like to eat at the Turf Club or DTD. Sounds like its a hike to either one of them.

Its a long walk to the turf club, take the boat from THV to SSR, its a nice ride. We didn't walk, we took the boat. You can also take the internal bus from the treehouse villas back to SSR to go to the Turf Club. We loved the prime rib, it was delicious and service was excellent.

Great Report!!:wizard:

We stayed at the THV for 12 nights last Christmas and really had a great time! Loved the boat!:goodvibes

DS(11) keeps asking me when are we returning to THV, the boys shared the bunk room and loved it.

I wouldn't want one without a car. We had a car there and it was a night and day difference. We tried the boat/bus system just to see. It was challenging to say the least. You will spend a lot of time waiting. If you have a villa next to the boat stop or bus stop then it will help things out a little.

Staying there in March for my grandson's 5th birthday - we're all looking forward to it! I did swing by the Treehouses last time I was down a few weeks ago and it's a nice quiet place - :yay:

If they gave you a golf cart it sure would be great! As for the internet, I always use my Iphone and turn on tethering. No mater which resort I stay in I never use their internet. I have had 6 people using my phone's internet at once.

Good to know! Thanks!

Thanks for the reviews/tips, we will be staying there, two familys, four adults two 13 year olds next week. Is there a area or particular villa we should request ? we will have a car.

We were next to the boat dock, which we loved. Some families request "close to bus stop" or "close to swimming pool". If you have a car, you can request close to north exit. There is a separate car entrance that we used, so we didn't have to enter thru SSR, but used the THV car entrance (key needed to open gate). Be aware that the roads are one way, so if you miss your parking space (one per unit), you have to drive around to a turn around. Any extra cars have to park at SSR and take the internal bus into the THV. On returning to the THV, we let the younger members keep the car, and DH and I took the bus back from the theme parks two nights. It wasn't bad..

I'm so glad you enjoyed the THV! We stayed there for a week last Sept. and absolutely LOVED them!. We had a water view also. The walk to the main SSR area was short and relaxing. Can't wait to stay there again. :goodvibes

They look very interesting, would love to try it some day.Is there a place that shows the room layout anywhere?
