Treehouse Villas Parking....

Is anyone else for the spray painting of the villa number (large of course for those non-readers visiting) on your one parking space to assure that one of your vehicles has a guaranteed space?

The problem is that service vehicles (maintenance, housekeeping, etc.) need places to park during the day. They typically aren't blocking anyone during daytime hours when people are at the parks, haven't arrived yet, don't have a car, etc. I imagine it's rare for the occupants of a group of 4-5 villas to all need a parking space simultaneously.

I would love to see some designation for the parking spaces. We frankly got confused because there were 4 treehouses in our section and only 3 parking spaces. There were maintenance vehicles parked in our "area" everyday; not blocking us in but making backing out "very" interesting!

Just got back from staying at THV and they are enforcing the "1 car parking rule". They were towing cars if they did not have a parking permission that is given upon check-in and if there were two cars parked there for the same unit. Also, to get into the villas you need to have your KTTW cards to open the gate as after you check-in at Sarasota, you have to go back out and then go into the villas and it is gate controlled. So, I would not hope to have more than 1 car parked at any given time there (just in case).

I think they will probably designate it on the parking pass. We will have 2 cars but only one will park at THV if that's the rule. Issue 3 parking passes but only one will say THV on it.

We were surprised that our parking pass didn't have THV/Treehouse Villas on it. It just said the same as the rest of SSR. Seems like that would be an easy way to mark the allowed vehicles.

That's great they are enforcing their rule.

That's good news that parking is being enforced.

We are choosing to stay in a protected wet-land area and should be willing to observe the rules of that area regardless of how many people we have staying in the unit.

SSR has plenty of parking for those that want that convenience to park multiple vehicles close to their unit. if it is too inconvenient, then we all have the choice to not stay there. It will be inconvenient for my family also, but we will do what's required because I would want at least 1 space for my unit.

They should let everyone know the parking limitation at the time of booking and then print it on the confirmation.

Of deciding on renting 2 cars or 1 van...A van it is! We want to park at the villa not shuttle back and forth to another parking lot! We rent a car because we DO NOT want to use Disney Transportation...So, again, thanks for all of the info. D :cool1:

Have a great trip! :)

I have stayed at a couple of Marriott's that had some covered parking, and some open air parking. If you had more than 1 vehicle, you got one color-coded parking pass for one vehicle to park in the covered area, and a different color-coded parking pass for the second vehicle to park in the open air parking area. Maybe they could do something like this for THV.
Also, labeling the passes as THV or SSR would help, but color coding would be more noticeable.
