Tuesday 5th April
The forecast today is for thunder storms but we decide to brave it out and go to the early magic hour at Epcot.
Mark and Maurice run to get the fastpasses for Soarin as our usual ritual in this park and the rest of us wait at Test Track.
This is one of my fav rides at Epcot and once again was not disappointed. We then make our way to mission space. After going on the orange version of this ever since this opened I vowed to try green as I always feel so sick. So green (wussies) version for me, Lisa, maurice and Jack whilst Mark Kirsty and Megan go on (the cool geeezers) orange version.
I was amazed at the difference I actually got off and felt well yay!
Whilst we were queuing up it had started to rain and boy was it raining. We checked out the prices of the ponchos and decided we would get wet as we did not want to spend $8.50 each to look wussie!
We run like idiots (well I did) to Spaceship Earth to try to stay out of the rain and everyone enjoys the new version of this ride.
Our fastpasses are now ready for soarin so we set off again trying unsuccessfully to dodge the rain.
Another favourite of mine is Soarin so I was very happy even though we got the bothersome feet dangling in front of us.
Still pouring with rain we run for the nemo ride which as usual is very cute.
We decide that we have had enough but intend to return later in the day go to the world showcase as Sara and Terry have never been here before and it would be nice for them to do on their last afternoon/evening and more importantly the forecast is for the weather to dry up later and for us to drink round the world.
We have a relaxing afternoon in the treehouse and Terry and Sara pick us up after they have a shopping trip in downtown Disney. We decide that Sara should finish her Bacardi Long Island Tea before she leaves while the rest of us have vodka, wine and beers. Sara is probably a little tipsy before we even start to drink round the world
We enter Epcot and show everyone our two leave a legacy tiles we got back in 2004, one to celebrate my 40th birthday and one to say hello to our friends when they come back a year later in 2005
The rain has stopped and it is quite pleasant now
We go to club cool and we advise everyone to try the Beverley with the usual results
After our free soft drinks we now wander off in search of alcoholic ones at the world show case
It is not long before I get distracted by Duffy Bear and run to get a photo of him. The queue takes forever or so it seems but worth it
We head first to mexico to do the new ride which none of us have done since it was revamped and when we come off of course we have to try on the hats
The boys enjoy a beer
Sara gets a mango cocktail thingy from China and she lets me have a sip - it is delish
Another Beer for Mark
Finally we make it to italy where I have a rose regale and Lisa has a sparking wine
Sara joins us with a beer
We are all having a very enjoyable afternoon but decide that as Terry is driving we will go out of the park and have dinner at Chillis as the drinks are much cheaper and they do 2 for 1 so a no brainer really!
We stop off at the Rose and Crown for our last drink in Epcot
Terry starts the van for us
and we all pile in
Although it is very busy in Chillis we do not wait too long considering we need a large table. Me and Lisa order a sea breeze but it comes with grapefruit instead of orange
Mark and Maurice order margaritas and long Island Tea and Sara sticks with the Long Island tea
The food here is very good and we all have a great evening. It is sad though as Terry and Sara's last night
