After having explained to my poor friends that the only way to find the magic in July is to get up at the crack of dawn we are all ready to go to Disney Hollywood Studios for the extra magic hour early entry.
First Des and Mark go and get the obligatory fastpasses for Toy Story Mania and we are off to Rock and Rollin Coaster. Vicky braves it and declares she loves it so we are off to a cracking start.
We of course have to try the wigs on in the shop
Tower of Terror is next and Vicky tries this too but she does not like it very much. We go and see the Muppets for a well deserved rest
We all love the Star Tours ride and by now it is time for Toy Story Mania
Just love Toy Story at the moment. I can't get enough
For our last ride of the day we go on the backlot tour and Mark swears he will never go on this again as it is so boring, but he did say that the last time!
We are now hungry and I manage to persuade our party to go the Sci Fi diner as I had fond memories of this in 2001 and wanted to come back. Mark wanted to go to the ESPN club so is not a happy bunny. The first problem we encounter is that they squash us into a table for four and call it a flying saucer. However it is an extremely small round table with an umbrella thing on it. The choices here are pretty poor and quite pricey. Mark gets the hump even more because he is driving and we all order cocktails.
I think me and Des have a Comet - Rum, Vodka, Gin, and Tequila topped with sour mix and cranberry juice and Vicky has a Lunar Landing - Amaretto, Peach Schnapps and orange juice. We get our glow ice cubes we can take with us.
Although the meal is not great we discover a cocktail which we adopt as our holiday cocktail - The Lunar Landing
With this in mind we leave the park and go to the liquer shop next to Winn Dixie. It is too hot for Kirsty to sit in the car and I ask if its okay for her to accompany us in the shop as a sign says over 21s only. I am told this is fine so long as she does not touch anything. Vicky and Des treats Mark to a bucket of Margarita Mix and Tequila and also buys Amaretto and Peach Schnapps. Des gets some Mojito. We go next door to Winn Dixie and get some bagels, muffins and cream cheese. Also a bottle of Cosmopolitan mix and the all important orange juice amongst some other goodies.
Tonight we are off to Fulton's Crab House and we have drinks in the Treehouse before we get the boat
We are early and we order cocktails at the bar but don't have to wait to long.
Des orders a fixed price three course meal and me and Mark order the Louie Fulton's Ultimate Crab and Lobster Experience For Two - (the Crab house specialty combination: a feast of steamed crab and lobster. Alaska king crab, snow crab, dungeness crab and 1¼ lb. Maine lobster, with hash browns and grilled asparagus minimum two people
Des's first course is a few lettuce leaves and four prawns and this becomes our holiday joke. His steak is not much bigger and neither is his afters
Here is Vicky's meal
I find the lobster and crab a bit fidley but is delicious
Kirsty's cheese cake is huge and would definately advise anyone to stay clear of the fixed price three course meal.
We order more drinks and go back to the treehouse for more drinks before bedtime.
