O M G I feel such a wave of calm. Who would ever have imagined the thrill I have discovering that there is a Covid Antiviral Treatment Tracker out there keeping count of availability by zip code!? I used Good RX to see what is near me but there are other trackers out there. THIS is what I was waiting for & it's going to change the course of our lives :cheer2:

I have questions about clinic availability in vacation destinations with high volume but, really, this all by itself is enough to get me moving!!!! Can't wait to fly again to all the places I've missed. :)
Finally, some really very good news!

Do you have a link?
I do but am never sure about what it means to promote a thing so I refrain, JLTraveling got it :)

What I'm hoping is that the pharmacies with quick clinics pop up in all the vacation spots. Places like beach towns, near amusement parks, nightclub districts, sports arenas, concert halls - all the places people go so they can get treated before they return home if need be and then poof, problem disappears! Haven't felt this hopeful in a very long time :cloud9:

This could def be a game-changer. Sure hope it works like it's supposed to.:)

I saw a quick blurb on the news the other day that in the next several weeks the government health department is moving to making national pharmacies like CVS and Rite Aid "one-stop" Covid “Test to Treat” centers which will provide individuals access to testing and treatment for free, all in one stop. Getting rid of the need to go to one place to get a vaccination, another place to get tested and another place to then get treatment. Plus, more free COVID rapid tests kits will be available.

CVS is a main pharmacy to get a COVID-19 vaccination along with the free N95 masks as they have had their own Minute Clinics in many of their CVS, way before Covid to get treated for other stuff. It's likely those same pharmacies will become the "one-stop" Covid treatment centers.

Then all you'd have to do is look up the nearest CVS with a Minute Clinic to where you will be staying.

This is good news. I thought I had heard something like this. We have an identical set up for flu, so it should work well. My husband and I got the flu over New Years a few years ago. We went to Kroger little clinic and got tested, then got a script for tamiflu. You can also get your flu vaccine at Kroger. I hope we have learned to use good quality masks when we have to go out for treatment of any contagious diseases going forward.

Even though someone would be taking these pills for 5 days, they'd still need to either mask up or quarantine, wouldn't they? The FDA site says it reduces the amount of people who get severe symptoms from the virus, not that it makes you not contagious?

I would tend to think this goes without saying, but maybe it does need clarification. I've been given Tamiflu in the past for Flu and it never occurred to me to think I was better immediately after starting treatment any more than I thought it was true with Strep and antibiotics, it takes time. When I'm sick I assume I'm contagious for at least a week and I always thought the same for the rest of my family, no way I'd want the risk of spreading it on my conscience.

For me it's important because it could keep me out of a hospital especially in a strange place, I'm perfectly ok with accepting it is not an instant fix.

I didn’t even know at-home antiviral treatment had been made available, so thank you for posting this. It’s one more weapon in the arsenal that helps me feel a little more confident about how we’ll manage living alongside this virus long term. I hope to not need it but it’s comforting to know it’s there.

It's been available for a couple of months, but it's still in pretty short supply because it takes a while to produce. Hence why the tracker is so useful, so if you need it you can see where to find it. But I know they had said supplies would ramp up starting this month. Since they announced the one stop test and treat centers, I'm guessing they expect the supply to be plentiful here pretty soon.
