Treadmills and running

Does anyone know if they charge to use the treadmills?

What has been perople's experiences on the jogging track? Is it covered? What's it like in rougher weather.

As you tell, I like to run.

The treadmills and all equipment in the fitness center are free. The track is ok...it is covered, and weather resistant, although not totally "weather proofed"

The fitness center can be pretty busy on sea days.....

Deck 4 is covered, except for the sides, and nice to run on. I like deck 10 better because it's out in the open air. It's shorter and maybe not quite as easy to get around but I'm not trying to get speedwork in on DCL. And, if it rains...no go. But it's great being up there in the early morning when it's quiet. They do have treadmills at no charge, as you have read, but you can have those. Other than the climate control in the fitness room, I find them boring. But, whatever works for you!

Deck 4 is where everyone runs, it's got the least obstructions (basically none). It does narrow down at the stern & bow to about one hallway wide, but along each side of the ship its much wider. The deck above covers it so it's fairly protected. I did this as well as running on the treadmills (the exercise room has windows overlooking the bridge and the bow to break the monotony). The exercise room is in the spa area forward on deck 9. They provide water, orange slices, lemon & lime wedges for refreshment.

The weather on our cruise was nice, just one day when the sea was rough. It was sorta cool running while the boat went up and down, rounding the corners was an experience. Deck 4, the covered deck, was 3 times around to make a mile. If there were a lot of walkers, sometimes it was hard to get around them in the narrow turns, most people, if they knew you were there, would move to the side.

Wow, they give you oranges! No one does that on my training runs. They usually just give me a dirty look. Thanks for the info.
