Travlers Checks

I was wondering if anybody has used the new American Espress Travlers checks card? We are trying to decide if we should get the cards or the plain travlers checks. Also am I right to assme that travlers checks are excepted all over WDW?

I'm sorry, I've never used the traveler cheque card. I never leave home without my traveler cheques however. I prefer them, because for me it is easier to budget my money. Each night I can count how much I have, & what I spent. I'm surmising with the card I would have to remember how much was left on the card. Too much energy for me when I'm so busy having fun.

I always use American Express travelers checks. Once, I lost them about an hour off the plane. What a way to start a disney trip! It was just like the commercial. I had replacements in hand in a few hours. I love them!

I have never had a problem cashing them in Disney. Off site a few times I have been asked for i.d. Usually I try to cash what I think I will need for the day at the front desk. I've had them accepted at all stores, restaurants, stands, even by the taxi driver. Never a problem.

I have used the card but not at Disney. Too many fees. I would only put the amount that you want to use for restuarants or shopping. I wasn't thinking and didn't use any Travelers Cheques when we went to New Orleans (TC's) and needed to go to the ATM - the fees are a mess - like $2.50. I am planning on using the card again, but only for my budgeted gas and hotel amount, Monies that I need for cash, I'll stick with TC's, which every place in Disney takes - even those little carts.

We always use the Cheques. We get the two party ones where either one of us can sign. We always take cash too. (for tips and snacks)

Yes, anywhere in WDW will accept traveler's checks. I would suggest, if you are going to pay for tickets and your room with them, to get larger denominations, like 100's so you won't be signing travelers checks forever. For other purchases, 20's are fine.
