hi all,

we are travelling back to florida with our now 1 year old baby boy in 2 weeks time, we took him when he was 5 months old , and travelled with virgin and bought a seat for him to give us extra space on board.

we were a little unimpressed with the virgin baby/toddler seat they supplied on the flight, (he would never have stayed in a skycot), and so for this trip, we have again purchased a seat for him, but were thinking, would virgin allow the baby car seat on board????

we have read conflicting reports, some saying yes they do, and some saying no they dont. so it seems like its the discression of the cabin crew.

he travels much better in his own car seat rather than the virgin generic one, but if we have to use it, we have to use it.

anyone with any experience of car seats on board virgin atlantic would be much appreciated. thanks

io dont think they do as it does not conform to their regulations, i would give the call centre a call and ask for the london call centre and that way you might get a better answer

They didnt allow us to yours our own when we travelled in march and I saw quite a few people being told the same as us!! The staff said it is not safe to use them as they do not fit onto the seat properly !!

No you def Can not use it. You will be lucky if they will even allow you to take it onboard the aircraft (they have always told me to check it in) But I am 100%sure that you are unable to use them for any period that the seat belt sign is on.

We weren't allowed to take it for our DD when she was 22 months old. The seat they provided for her left a lot to be desired. She did not like it at all and screamed a lot of the time when she was in it. Luckily the seat belt sign wasn't on a lot:rotfl2:. I think everyone else on board would have been happier if she had been in her own seat:rotfl:.

It just seems silly not to let them on the plane as other airlines are able to.
