travellers cheques

I'm not comfortable carrying a ton of cash with me... is there somewhere on the ship where you can cash in travellers cheques?

I believe Guest Services can cash traveler's cheques for you.

Also, have you heard about the new American Express debit card intended to replace traveler's cheques?

It's not attached to any of your bank accounts, but works just like credit/debit card. Much easier to use than traveler's cheques and no worries about having to carry a wad of cash around.

second link says you can use Euros and Pounds Sterling so it looks like you can purchase online.

You can definitely cash traveler's checks at Guest Services. We also used Traveler's checks at some of the ports such as Cozumel and Grand Cayman and we always received US dollars back in our change. We didn't even have to ask, they automatically gave us the US bills.
