Travellers Cheques accepted?

Hello everyone,

DH and I were talking about how much money we are planning on taking with us for our upcoming trip and the subject came up about travellers cheques. I've used them in the past but that was a really long time ago. Does DL accept them? We will be bringing our credit card with us but I'm pretty sure there are some places that don't accept a credit card, i.e. food carts. Just don't like the idea of carrying too much cash on us.

I can't think of anyplace that doesn't accept credit cards. I would think you'd have a hard time finding anyone that even knows what to do with a traveler's check, honestly. I actually didn't even realize they still existed.

While I wouldn't attempt to cash a Traveller's Cheque (TC) at a food vendor cart, it isn't true that you would have a hard time finding anyone at DL who knows what to do with them.

I have brought TCs to the DLR for at least five years and used them without any bother whatsoever. I have used them at many of the restaurants and stores at DL and DCA. I have even used them at some of the stores in Downtown Disney - Sephora, Build-a-Bear and of course World of Disney. But often,the easiest thing for me is to cash some in the morning at City Hall.

If you also check with the hotel that you are staying at, they may cash a limited amount each day for you. I have cashed TCs at the Howard Johnson with no trouble.

Sure I have a credit card, but TCs make it easier to stick to a spending budget.
