Traveling with your crinoline?

Those of you that shipped your dress, and/or even those who took it on the plane with you. How did you pack you crinoline? I was thinking about using one of those 'space bags' where you can get all the air out to help save space in my suitcase.

Do any of you have any recommendations? I am going to ship my dress, but need to find a way to get the rest of my stuff to Disney without taking to many suitcases. Boy do I hate that the airlines charge for bags now...
:furious:

I think a space bag is a great idea! I used one of those plastic bags that zip up that you get blankets in. It took some creative rolling to get it to fit, but I got it in there.

Thanks!

If you're shipping your dress why don't you ship your crinny with it?

I would love to but on the Carolyn Allen's website it say not to ship any accessories or undergarments, I assume my crinoline is considered an undergarment. Right?

Ah, ok, yeah I would guess that too.

So, yeah, those space saver bags would work great! Are you thinking of using the travel kind that you have to roll the air out of or the vacuum ones?

I have both so I haven't decided yet. I am more worried about getting everything there than home, I figure coming home if need be we can ship extra stuff. We will also have less wedding items since our gifts for friends and family will be given to them, but then again we will probably have gifts we bought for ourselves to take home. :-)

I just heard back from Caroline Allens and they said the Crinoline doesn't count as an undergarment, so I can ship it!!! :cool1:

This is very exciting news :dance3:

Great idea....

Shipping a dress is a scary thought to me. For the cost of shipping you could have the bridal salon pack the dress & crinny and take it with you for the extra $30.

I just had it on a hanger in the same bag as my dress and carried it right on the plane :) It was a little wrinkled but since it goes under your dress anyways it didn't really make a difference... even Carolyn Allens didn't say it needed steaming since it wasn't going to be visible :)
